A good option if absolutely nothing else is availa

Posted Dec 8, 2016
I was in Athens for a conference and no other hotel had rooms available in downtown. I needed a hotel close to some of the local establishments so I could walk back-and-forth. As far as location this hotel was great but definitely a hotel you would not take your whole family to. The staff probably could've been nicer. I went out of my way to be extra nice just to see what kind of response I got. I didn't get a whole lot in return but that's fine. I will say that the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of cable channels. The one real complaint that I have is that they were people smoking in the rooms next to me and I could smell it in my room which was non-smoking. you know what to expect from a hotel like this so I would say that it definitely met my expectations.

I am glad that you stated that we met your expectations. We do feel that we provide a good value in the Athens area. We do apologize that the room next door was smoking. We know that was very uncomfortable. Please come and see us again soon.

Hotel is desperately in need of better housekeeping and maintenance such as painting, carpets, etc. Thin walls between rooms and very easy to hear unwanted noises from adjoining bathroom.

Not a hotel I would recommend

Posted Oct 25, 2016
Pros: The staff was very friendly. Convenient location for my trip.
Cons: Blankets had holes; toilet did not flush easily; comforters had stains on them; room just did not feel clean; could hear the TV next door as clear as our own. There were no hot breakfast items offered besides microwavable sandwiches even on the weekend.
Location: This location is near downtown Athens and the UGA so close to all the entertainment venues in this college town.

Pros: Location
Cons: Updating, fan in bathroom, lighting in bathroom, air condition/fan.
Location: Good location, plenty of parking.
Good location, easy check-in and check-out, WAY over priced.

It was okay for the price.

I'm not terribly picky. I wanted an inexpensive place to sleep while attending an event just outside Athens. The room was passably clean with the amenities you would expect. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but I was so tired it didn't really matter to me. The staff there was middle of the road - no issues. The complimentary breakfast was typical continental - cereals, bagels, etc, with the addition of microwaveable breakfast sandwiches like you would find at a gas station. All in all, it was the least expensive motel I found in town and did the job.

Very value priced. Beats the Orlando prices.

Very good price and the pool was very large and nice. Room was reasonably clean but needs updating. Some bugs in bathroom as in most southern buildings. The breakfast was very minimal.

Yeah, but No

Posted Mar 20, 2016
We needed to make a two night visit to Athens. Most hotels were booked for one night or the other. Not wanting to change hotels in the middle of our stay we settled on Days Inn. Being Days Inn, I didn't expect frills. Arrived to check in and staff was cold. We got a nonsmoking room but unfortunately pot smokers don't adhear to the nonsmoking request. We were confronted with heavy marijuana smoke residue upon entering the room - so much so we left the door open and turned the AC wide open to let it air out. Outside the smell the room was fine. Basic but fine. Breakfast was minimal but I really didn't expect a breakfast at this level hotel so that was a plus. The hotel also had a pool, which is another plus. The downside (if you can get past being blasted in the face with pot smoke upon initially entering the room) was you actually had to go to the front desk to check out- I prefer to just calling to checkout. Staff was more pleasant on the way out though. However, apparently there was some huge bust the morning we checked out. Cops swarming, people arrested, multiple cop cars in the parking lot. It was time to go. Maybe it's not so much the hotel as it is the clientele but we won't be back.

The room was in need of a reno. ACUTE super loud. Toilet looked industrial like from a gas station and it was loud. Otherwise everything else was fine. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was tadty.
