I booked a room in Golden City hotel but after some time I was informed that my booking has been changed to Crystal city hotel. when I arrived to Athens I directly went to Crystal city hotel to check in. They told me that my room is back in Golden city hotel, so eventually I returned to Golden City hotel and I put my bags in the luggage deposit room since it wasn't time to check in. I returned at night after a hectic day of sightseeing and couldn't wait to take a shower, I was shocked to know that for the Third time my room was changed to a third hotel!!! this time they said it was due to water leakage and electric failure in the room (which I strongly doubt is true) I was so angry and since it was late and I was so exhausted to search for another place eventually I agreed to move to the Third hotel which turned up to be an old place! I was not even informed in advance about those issues and this cost me many hours of my valuable time! No wonder Greece is in crisis!!!

Stayed here 2 nights in a small stop over. As we entered the lobby the smell of cigarettes took my breath away. Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Although this hotel is full of refugees whom made us feel very uncomfortable with staring, making comments and pointing. The hotel lobby has numerous signs stating no smoking but everyone there seems to do it anyway. Even whilest we were trying to enjoy our dinner. As we were trying to sleep, there were families running around the hallways yelling at one another and their children were screaming. Overall a very poor experience.

Cons: The hotel has carpet that could use an upgrage
Location: Close to the Metro
This is an affordable hotel close to the Metro with a decent breakfast. The room is standard although you do get a lot of noise from the street below because of the poor windows.

OK Hotel in Central Location

Pros: Friendly staff; clean room; nice building
Cons: Doors and windows could use more sound-proofing
Location: Centrally located near Omonia metro station; can take a quick subway trip or a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis
The hotel had friendly staff and a clean room. The building was in good shape compared to most of the city. The room was only somewhat comfortable as the windows and doors weren't soundproofed as well as I would have liked. I could hear a lot of traffic noise during the early night, and being on the seventh floor I could also hear some of the louder speaking customers walking up the stairs to the breakfast buffet on the eighth floor. The bed was very firm but that's how I like it. Not sure if Athens has a lot of mosquitos but my room had a few. The hotel's location was also reasonably close to the Acropolis so it was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was average to below average for this type of hotel but sufficient to get a good meal. Overall, an ok hotel for the price.

Nice Hotel

Pros: The staff and the room.
Cons: Respect the no smoking signs.
Location: Location with sun, no problems, with the moon, take care. To the Acropolis 15 min from the hotel by metro, you can go walking anyway, is not far away
Well, I read others reviews before to go and they are perfectly correct. Is close to a metro station, near to every important place on Athens, it takes one hour from the airport to the hotel with train+metro, 25 minutes to the port of Pireaus. The only cons I can say is in the night, I tried every day I was in the hotel to be before 10pm, after that take a taxi. The breakfast is ok, you cannot ask much for the price of the hotel. The room was very good, safe box included. You can see no smoking signs, but the people doesn´t respect that much. sometimes you smell cigarette, wasn't good for me, but I was all day outside.

Ok hotel for the price

Pros: The staff
Cons: The hard bed and lack of hot water, heat, usage of power outlets
Location: Center of city but not close to attractions
The room was a good size for 2 adults and 2 children, but overall the heat barely worked and we had to get maintenance to fix it. The outlets only worked if the lights were on so charging anything was a problem. The bed was super hard and the hot water barely got hot. The outside appearance was disappointing and dirty. The staff was super friendly and the helpful and the breakfast was pretty good. The price was reasonable, but you get what you pay for. Internet was slow in the room and you only get to use the wireless for one session, not until you use the total minutes you purchase.
