Convenient Location

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Pros: Decor
Cons: WiFi access, onsite cafe, pillows
Location: Being near the university, it's close to downtown, with its restaurants, and pretty close to everywhere, really.
We mostly liked the hotel. The decor was cute, and the room keys were a nice theme of yearbook pictures. The location is great. It was easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. We had a few issues. We couldn't get the WiFi charged to the room, and the beds had only very soft pillows. We tried to go to the onsite breakfast at the cafe, but the staff there were so unfriendly that we left and had breakfast elsewhere. We also had a flood in our bathroom. The drain was clogged, and due to the way the shower is set up (there is a large cover over the drain) I didn't see it until it had almost overflowed onto the floor. I had to finish rinsing my hair in the sink. Maintenance was pretty prompt about getting there, and seemed to do a good job clearing the clog.

Dear Shannah, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this thorough review of your stay. It’s always a pleasure to hear from guests who enjoy our décor as well as our proximity to downtown and UGA. While there were some issues with your drain, we are glad to hear that our maintenance team was prompt in their response. We hope you’ll stay with us again the next time you’re in Athens. Unique hotel, but not clean

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Great location. Close to UGA and downtown. The staff was very helpful in finding dining options and giving directions to get around UGA.
Cons: Dirty room and exterior. Needs some TLC.
It's a cute hotel and they have decorated everything very nicely. However, the room was not clean. There was a lot of mold in the shower and ants were all over the room, even on the beds. The room had a musty smell too. We got in late and left early so didn't get to enjoy the amenities.

A CUTELY UPDATED MOTEL

Posted Jul 4, 2017
The Graduate has a fun, retro, University of Georgia-themed decor, which adds charm. But the front-desk receptionist had problems finding our reservation, and wasn't particularly resourceful or speedy in resolving them. And the air conditioner was very loud and smelled slightly moldy. On the bright side, the bed was very good.

Dear Globetrotter, Thanks for your review. We love hearing from guests who enjoy our local- and academic-themed décor. That being said, we’re disappointed that there were issues with your reservation; we’ll be checking in with our front desk staff to see what happened here. We hope you’ll visit again soon. Excellent accommodations, clean themed rooms and be able to purchase a iced latte and sweet rolls in an on site coffee shop... Wow, what a great way to start an enjoyable morning in Athens, Georgia.

College daughter orientation

Posted Jun 30, 2017
Location of the hotel was good and the lobby decor was great. I feel like the design scheme that they had in mind was good however the mustiness, air conditioning unit and overall cleanliness was lacking. I spent 3 nights and did not receive maid service despite inquiring 3 times. Unacceptable and little concern from staff. When I returned home, I had to wash all my things in my suitcase due to the old and unpleasant odor .

Dear Diane, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We’re happy to see our location was convenient to you and your daughter during orientation, and that you liked our design scheme. That being said, we are disappointed to learn that other parts of your stay failed to impress. Please know that our team is working hard to solve the mustiness issue you have described and that we are confident it will be improved shortly. You are correct to expect more concern on behalf of our staff and we apologize for our shortcomings in this area. We hope you’ll stay with us more over the next four years, and we promise to show you a greatly improved experience. Sincerely, Michael Coward General Manager

Nice hotel, fun interior decor

Posted Jun 25, 2017
Pros: Location was great, I was able to walk to a different restaurant every day. The Foundry club was wonderful as a special treat too,
Cons: My room had a slight musty smell, I assume from the fairly constant humidity, but should be aired out or something.
Location: Campus is nearby, wonderful restaurants and clubs.
If you are tired of the same old corporate hotel and want to stay in some history that has been modernized and decorated with hipsters in mind, this is your place. My room was lovely, shower was great, everything clean and all of the staff were friendly and helpful...and I mean all. If anyone noticed you had a quizzical look on your face, they would say hi and offer assistance. They all wore name tags and had abundant personality. Nice change.
