A hotel/rooms for the budget traveler!

Posted Oct 8, 2016 on Hotels
This is not a hotel. It's more like a hostel. The only benefit this place has is its location. The shower sucked. This place reminded me of someone who is on a tight budget. I won't even classify this as a hotel period! The community shower reminded me of something out of the movie, The Midnight Express. The only thing going for this place is the location, location, location. Everything else is for the budget traveler and this is not a hotel period!

Cheap and clean hotel for a short stay....

Posted May 13, 2016
Pros: Awesome view of the Meteora from the hotel.
Cons: The owner speaks english but not the staff. Communication can be difficult if she is not around.
Location: It's really right in the middle of everything: bus station, restaurants, pub. Grocery store and train station are at a walking distance too.
We stayed in Kalambaka for one night. The hotel is right in the middle of the action, therefore close to stores, restaurants and pubs. It's 5 minutes walk from the train station. Cab not required. The service was okay and the owner is nice. We also had accès to wifi. If you're not expecting more than a descent place to crash for a night or two than I recommand it.

Nice homely hotel

Posted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Staff. Location. Eating facilities with the likes of 'Everest' 24/7. Bus stop right outside and the one for the airport across the busy beach road.
Cons: Why change anything if it work? But to be fair don't compare with a higher star hotel. Compare like for like. It's OK for its star rating.
Location: Everest is open 24/7. Bakery next door has amazing coffee & the 'Cristiano' cake range. Sovlaki King further down do the best chips in Athens.
I travelling with 2 children & had requested a room behind the church thinking it was going to be quieter away from the main road(s), and all this after I have read other reviews about the church & roads. The hotel staff were excellent and allocated the room as requested. However, after staying for over 3 weeks, you get used to all external noises. The church bells ring at irregular times, starting at 7am, with some repetition 15 minutes later, to the tune of dah (3 times), dah again (3 times), then dah (10 times). The whole set is repeated 5 times. The kids and I loved it. Great early morning call and certainly did not want to waste my day in bed! The whole thing lasts about a minute, The main beach street is continuous traffic 24/7. If the lights stop the traffic then do expect some racing sounds at the light changes. The staff are genuine and did take an interest in our stay. They meat our demands and even those beyond those offered by the hotel. They even taught the kids varying versions of backgammon. The room was clean & maintained as such. Towels are provided along with washing soaps. Plenty of toilet paper also! Beds come with pillows, sheets & additional ones in case you get cold in the night. TV works but Greek TV is not to everyone's taste. Air con also. Wardrobe with additional pillows & blankets. A dresser with mirror & chair. Plenty of light switches & power points. Powerful shower. Hot water 24/7. Balcony with table & chairs used as a dinning area.

Tiny room near the beach

Posted Jul 18, 2015 on Hotels
The main reason of choosing the hotel is its location. Less than 5 minute walk to beach. It is also about 8 minute walk to the last stop of the train (local transit) system that goes to Athens. The beach was very nice, bring a mask/goggles to swim. The water is very clear and small fish are around the rocks (very little waves and current) The main negatives are the room size. The rooms are small and you either have a very tiny bathroom with a ultra tiny shower or share a common bathroom with other guests. We went with the private bathroom. The shower was so small the shower curtain stuck to your skin while showering. I think the shower area was 24 x 24 inches, at least it seemed about that. The beds were soft and saggy, so not the best. Everything was clean and the rooms have nice baloney to escape the tiny room. If you get a low price, the room is ok. Below the hotel is a 24 hour sandwich shop with inexpensive, but tasty food.

Dear Madam, you made a reservation for ONE person and you came 3 persons. you made a reservation for a room with shared shower ,the manager upgrade you to a room with shower at the same rate and you refuse. You said to EXPEDIA partner (mr Tacker)that we gave you wronge directions to come but unfortunatly ,i gave you the postal code 16673 to put it in ur gps and...and... and.,i supose to live the hotel at 7.hours and i wait for you untill you came at 9.30 night, also you said that the room dosent have A.C. but it has and it is not a hotel but it is a hostel. You ask also for a swiming pool. Never Expedia advertise wrong things or say lies.Thank you.
