This place is in a prime location in Plaka, short walk to tons of shops and restaurants. My only feedback is that the website did not show pictures of the restroom which had a few design issues. The shower and curtain did not hold water so the bathroom Would get very wet when you shower, it was also very narrow so shaving my legs was difficult. Because of all this the plumbing suffered and there was a distinct smell, not overwhelming but there. I grew up traveling to Mexico often so none of this was a huge deal for me. I also loved the free breakfast each morning. The good still outweighs the bad

Nefeli is exactly the sort of hotel I enjoy staying in. Very reasonably priced, well located for access to key attractions. It's not lavish by any means, but it's clean and has everything I needed and wanted, including the most steady and reliable hotel Internet I've ever encountered. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We had a good experience staying at this hotel. It has an ideal location—walking distance from basically all of the attractions you might want to see, small grocery store next door to easily buy drinks/snacks for the day while out and about, and close by to many other restaurants. The people that run the hotel are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They serve breakfast which was also very good. The room itself is very modest, not fancy, but if you’re just looking for a place to sleep while you explore all day it’s perfect for that so it worked well for us. I will say that the shower is very small, it was hard for us to wash without accidentally shutting the water off, changing the temperature, or spraying water outside the shower, but it’s still sufficient for all we needed. Our room had ants in it, which was not great, but they didn’t bother us enough for us to say anything about them. Overall, the location and service was great, besides the ants our room was very clean and the neighborhood felt safe. If we came back to Athens we’d definitely stay here again.

This was my third summer of staying at the Nefeli Hotel, and I will always go back. It offers an honest and old world charm. I love the location, on one of the prettiest and quietest streets in the Plaka. The Angelika Chatzimihalli Museum just a few doors down is my favorite museum in Athens, devoted to Greek traditions, crafts, and customs. The staff at the Nefeli are superb - kind, helpful, friendly.

The hotel is in a beautiful area in Athens, the area has a village like feeling, you are within easy walking distance for all the sights and welcoming taverna’s. The hotel is basic, but the staff were so helpful and everywhere was clean.

I stayed here 3 years ago and I was very happy with the place. It’s affordable.The location is great since everything is at walking distance. They have WiFi, hot water, in room bathroom is, clean, and breakfast. Breakfast is a lot but they offer the same food every day and it’s been like this for years. This time we found lots of mosquitoes in the room and couldn’t sleep because of it. After all it’s good for the price but these little things can improve the stay.

Great location near to Plaka and the centre (including the metro from the airport which is less than 10 mins walk away) and the acropolis and other archaeological sites. Also good for the national garden and other attractions. The bedroom was a bit shabby but clean and comfortable (so great value for the price). The receptionists were all very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was fine - though very average coffee (a problem everywhere in Greece).

Very good location of this hotel, close to historical places , very good breakfast, nice service, hotel is clean but the comfort is not too good, you can hear people talking in neighbors room late night or playing music. We stayed in this hotel for 12 nights and we enjoyed being there.

The place is very close to acropolis and other main attractions in the city center. The hotel provides appropriate service. I would like to suggest variations in breakfast. We stayed for 8 days having the same breakfast everyday like cereals,oatmeal, etc. the breakfast they serve is very good but a variation would make it even better.

Nice, basic hotel with friendly staff
This hotel is a family-run business that offers reasonable prices (for the Plaka) and provides decent accommodations, plus complimentary breakfast. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, and the room was quite basic, which based on past experiences in Athens is not uncommon in this price range in the Plaka area. And, while the room had all that we needed, it could benefit from some updates. However, since we spend so little time in the room it was fine for our needs.The surrounding neighborhood appeared to be fairly safe, though it was a bit dimly when we returned at night. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay at the Nefeli Hotel again if we need to be in Athens again to fly home.

The hotel was centrally located which made getting around very easy. We felt safe as it is on a more residential road, although there is a market nearby to grab water and other items which is helpful. The staff there is wonderful and always available to answer any questions and offer suggestions about where to go, what to see etc. The rooms are a good size and clean. We thought the breakfast was amazing! When we go back to Athens, we would definitely stay there again. It's a family run hotel and you can see they truly care about all of their guests and do whatever they can to try to make everyone feel welcome and happy. I know we did!

Old world charm
Once again, a wonderful stay at the Nefeli Hotel in Athens. I would always return to this place for my trips to Athens. I love the quiet street, the location inside the maze of the Plaka. The Nefeli has an old world charm and simplicity which I love. The staff is wonderful.

I loved my stay at this hotel. It is very close to the Plaka and to other hotels for tour bus pickup. Although the decore might seem a bit dated, it is comfortable, clean and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is huge. I loved the Nutella filled donuts in particular. I would definitely stay here on my next trip to Athens.

This is exactly as it says, no frills but a great location. The staff was super helpful. The ac could have been stronger, of note; I was there when it was BURNING hot.

My friend and I stayed four nights in Athens at this hotel. It was an amazing experience. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. The morning breakfast was amazing, and it is located in a great location to walk to anything around Plaka. We definitely hope to return!

Great location, walkable to all of the main tourist attractions, and the breakfast was comprehensive and tasty! However the bathroom was tiny (struggled to shower) and a lack of sound deadening meant we were awoke all through the night from drips opening/closing/ lifting going up / down etc. As the hotel wasn’t cheap we felt it wasn’t the best value and would try alternates in a similar location if going back.

Disappointed stay.
Out dated hotel with poor furniture, and crooked rooms. Tiny shower area where only half of the body can fit in for a normal size person. Breakfast was reasonable and close to city centre. Be careful of the changing temperatures of the water in the shower, sudden extreme hot water could possibly burn your skin. Price too high for the accommodation and poor state of the rooms. Poor wifi. Will not recommend unless priced at €40 a night.

The location cannot be beat!
The location cannot be beat... sitting at the foot of the acropolis... minutes away for other attractions... it's great! Moreover, the staff is friendly and super welcoming and accommodating to your needs. Plus their knowledge of sites and how to get around is so incredibly useful. Plus they are right next door to a supermarket (for quick snacks) and a cafe for (for a coffee or sandwich for on the go!).

Great little gem
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and were welcomed by the friendly receptionist Maria who helped us with all the questions we had. Our room was small but cozy and the location of the hotel was fantastic, within walking distance to a nice market, and all the touristy sites. The only issue we had was with the extremely small shower. The water was hard to adjust as well. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place if you are just after a cozy place to sleep on a budget without any frills.

Winter trip to Athens
We stayed here for three nights and had a brilliant time. From check in until check out nothing was to much trouble. Our bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and a great start to the day. The hotel is perfectly located for all the historical sites and there are a great choice of tavernas very close by. We will definitely come back.
