Excellent Hotel

Pros: Everything- best breakfast in Athens, great location, great staff. Clean/comfortable/great value.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Everything is close by. Leave extra time to go to/from the airport from anywhere in Athens as traffic is horrible, but you can walk most anywhere.
This hotel is in the heart of the Plaka neighborhood, ~5 mins walk from the metro, and in the middle of everything. You can catch a hop on hop off with another short 5-10 min walk to see all the sites, or just walk there.

Pros: Free hot drinks and biscuits served up until 17:30. Leaflets and maps at bar entrance. On the bar, touch screen monitor providing more information.
Cons: My Greek!
Location: Central. Acropolis just up the hill, Flea Market down the road with lots of eateries. Some blinding Greek craft beer can be had from a shop nearby!
We stayed at the Plaka Hotel for three nights after reading many fantastic reviews, and were far from disappointed! It was very central with amazing rooftop views of the Acropolis, and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Just a short walk from Syntagma Square, getting there from the airport couldn't have been easier (X95. 6 euros for an adult, 3 for children. About 1 hour). The rooms were clean and comfortable, with flat screen TV showing a variety of channels (BBC), free safe and probably the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in! Enough for 2 adults and a 12 year old. Also, this is the only place I've ever stayed where someone came and asked if everything was OK, every morning. And as for the rest of the staff, well, faultless. All questions answered with such enthusiasm and professionalism so as to get your day going well and good. If you go to Athens this hotel is definitely the place to stay.

The hotel is located in the center of Plaka, within walking distance to the Acropolis, and all entertainment, shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is the fact that the room had a strong sewage odor at night. Not sure if it had more to do with their piping system or the actual room.

Pros: Central location
Cons: A door hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been useful (this may have just been particular to our room)
Location: Excellent location - couldn't have been any more convenient for the top sites - Acrópolis, Agora, Hadrians Library, Acrópolis Museum, etc
A medium sized hotel in the perfect location, close to all the main sites, shopping, bars and restaurants. Easy to get to from the metro stations of Syntagma and Monastiraki. Staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. There is a good variety on offer for breakfast and the staff keep it well stocked. Tea, coffee and biscuits are on offer during the day and the roof terrace is a must for an excellent daytime and nighttime view of the Acropolis.

Pros: Helpful, proactive staff Location All you can eat breakfast Rooftop view.
A very enjoyable stay in Athens, made even more so by the helpful and proactive staff. The reception and reservation teams identified a more cost-effective room configuration and arranged for the change so that we were charged less, without compromising what we wanted. The staff were also provided valuable tourist information each morning. The location was so central to the ancient Athens sites, that we were able to come back to the hotel during the day if required without losing any time. The rooftop view (and bar) is a lovely feature, worth taking advantage of. Breakfast was all-you-can eat continental which was very nice.

Pros: It was very comfortable, very clean, and the staff was excellent. We were very close to all major sight-seeing activities.
Cons: Not anything really, although perhaps a few more choices for breakfast.
Location: We went to the Acropolis, museums, shopping, and many different restaurants. Everything was within walking distance to our hotel.
We relocated to this hotel for an extra 5 days in Athens, after we had been on tour of Greece. The hotel was very nice and in an excellent location

Pros: Location and Staff.
Within walking distance to public transportation and most sights. Staff were extra friendly and very helpful. They provided us with directions, maps, and great suggestions. We arrived on the first Sunday of the month and the staff let us know that all the archeological sites were free for the day. They also arranged our transportation to the airport after a brief conversation with a staff member over breakfast. There were great views of the Acropolis from the rooftop. It was a little noisy - church bells.

Excellent hotel which is close to the major attractions. Easy to get to, just get the X95 bus from the airport to Syntagma square (last stop) and then it's a 10 minute walk. We would definitely stay there again.

Pros: Please see above
Cons: Maybe the room temperature setting, it was cold at night. Also, had some problems with the TV as the English channels were very limited
Location: Please see above
First time in Greece for the 3 of us so we wanted to make the most out of our 1 week (short) stay. Staff was accommodating with requests prior to trip ie adjoining rooms, along with the Acropolis view. Discovered that one of the rooms did have a view of the Acropolis, which was great to look at. Breakfast buffet was good - loved the spinach croissant, I think it's called Spanakopita, The staff (public relations) was very helpful, she offered to meet with us after breakfast to maximize our time in Athens. Also met a very nice staff member who always served and replenished the buffet table. The hotel is next to 2 groceries, where you can buy still water at a good price (a must when you're walking a lot), it's also walking distance to the tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping places - just always be mindful of your surroundings. We also enjoyed the coffee/water that was available after hours. Since we were there for a short visit, we decided to go to Santorini over the weekend, and to Delphi the day before we left- early breakfast was always available. Overall, The Plaka hotel is a great place to stay and would definitely recommend it.
