Worst experience

The room smelled extrmemly bad. The comforter and sheets had holes. The sheets had staines. The carpet was ripped. My roommate got jumped right outside the hotel when he went across the street to get a gyro. The staff was helpful and friendly. Internet works only in the lobby. The air conditioning works in the room. The hotel wouldn't have been worth the money if the bed would've been clean and the room didn't smell bad.

Nice hotel in Athens

Pros: Hotel was nicely maintained, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
Location: All the attraction are within walkable distances.
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel during our trip to Athens. The hotel itself is located in a "shady" block of Athens. However, if you walk 1 block away from hotel, the area is very populated and busy. As for the hotel itself, its very nicely maintained, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and courteous.

Pros: It is close the main turistic areas.
Cons: Security and cleanning
I felt unsafe in this hotel. The surronding areas were dangerous. You cannot lock the doors from the inside (extra locks)

Checked in, and checked out 20 minutes later. Hotel was located in a rather seedy neighborhood. For check in, you had to go up a flight of stairs. Room was lit by one single light bulb on wall. Mattress' were on a floor not even on a frame. Balcony overlooked a half torn down building. Room smelled musty. The pictures of this hotel are not an accurate reflection of the hotel. Granted the price was really good for this hotel, for a little bit more you can stay somewhere significantly better.

The stench that does not leave you

Pros: Convenient location within walking distance of the train station. Each floor is colorfully painted in a different bright shade. Fast check-in/out
Cons: The smell and carpet stains
No smoking signs are posted throughout the hotel, but I have a strong suspicion previous guests have not followed it. The stench of the room upon entering was overpowering and then did not fade. I cursed the need for air because breathing through my nostrils allowed such a smell to enter and stay there. At one point, I farted and it actually provided a preferable relief from the smell of the room.

When hit with the smell of the unkept, mouldy room, you will find the most amazing sight in Athens is that this hotel still exists.

Pros: Location is in the centre of the city.
Cons: Hotel is very old, they need to refurbish it.
Location: Centre location, near to market, bus stop.
Overall experience was disappointing, but not worth for the amount spent on hotel, it's very basic hotel, what is visible on website you will not find the same when you reach there. It is good for sleeping in the night and leave next day.

The pictures tell a fairy tale story...

Pros: The beds were clean and tidy with ample towels.
Cons: The air-con had a few settings that included: Hot air, hot air, hot air and at the lowest temp, hot air.
Location: The location, according to the taxi driver, is right smack bang in the middle of where people from Iraq and Iran are staying. The economy has suffered
...That sadly does not come true. The drains literally stink and something really has to be done. I'd, normally, never write such a review but I've recently been to Morocco, Paris, Rome and Venice and the SOHO hotel was simply the worst hotel I've stayed in. You cannot tell what it is 'currently' like from the photos! Be warned. There's a load of random guys standing around and, the Sparta Hotel next door, seems to feature a lot of Police.

Pros: it was clean and the price was good
Cons: they need to have some sort of breakfast
Location: there is really nothing to do close to the hotel the metro is difficult to get to and Omonia metro
The Hotel was clean and smelled good, the only thing that didn't work for me was the location for a single older women alone it was not convient , it would have been better if they had some sort of breakfast that you could pay extra for but over all the hotel its self was nice and well worth the price, the staff was helpful
