When I entered the room, it smelled strange and it was dusty. There was a stink bug. When I woke up the next morning, my throat was swollen and swollen and hurt. The blanket was thin and cold. The faucet in the bathroom was broken beautifully, and it was difficult to use because only hot water came out from the shower head. I left my iPad charger in the room, but I haven't heard anything.

Disappointing
Breakfast was horrendous and there were no coffee makers in the room. Had to request a second room as the pedestal on the TV was completely broken in the first one. Pillows were great but the beds were the hardest I've ever slept in. Shower spigot was broken and loose. Highly doubt that I'd stay there again, ever. ☹

We had a 1 night stay. Everything in this hotel was crisp and clean. The staff was friendly. Very quiet stay. We travel this route quite often and we will be staying here again. (The only con was that there is road construction going on, and the entrance road to get to the hotel was hard to see , as it was in the evening, and there were no entrance markings that were visible. )

Good option for OU parents.
Athens Super 8 is a no frills, good value option when I visit my son at Ohio University. I've paid more at other hotels, but no need to when Super 8 is clean and safe. This is a good place to cut costs.

The staff was very friendly. The building is old and needs updating and repairs. Room had an odor of old urine. They are trying to update it but it needs more work.

Room lights not all working. Tub faucet not working. No coffee maker in room. Continental "breakfast" pathetic, offering only juice, coffee, muffins, donuts and candy bar...no milk cereal toast fruit yogurt or anything warm.

No one at the desk on multiple visits, limited towels, washcloths, and Cups. Tried going to desk several time for cups no one ever there. Breakfast house 6-9 on weekends sign limiting one item per person. Menu was cheap tiny granola bar, over ripe bananas, yogurt. NO LIQUID CREAM for coffee.

The motel was clean and quiet. My only disappointed were the breakfast was a joke. Breakfast was a couple of muffins and a donut with coffee. Very disappointed on breakfast.

Our room was not clean. One of the light switches was filthy. I had to clean it before using it. The tv, nightstands, and dresser were covered in dust. Our bedspread had stains on it, as did the chair. Our room was very close to the stairs. We could hear everything outside the room at all hours of the night. Will not return.

Basic, but clean
Place is outdated, and extremely basic. Mattress was as hard as a rock…but my room was very clean. Had to stay there in a pinch, so it was acceptable. Breakfast pretty much non existent.

The staff was SO very nice! The hotel itself needs to be updated. Very out of date decor. Couldn’t get an Uber or Lyft from that location to Ohio University for the football game 🙁

Definitely nothing fancy but if you're just looking for somewhere clean to crash for the night this will do. Only " complaint" would be they advertise Free Breakfast, to be more realistic they should probably advertise this as Complimentary Stale Donut and coffee. Ok, in all fairness they did offer a few packs of yogurt and a small pitcher of orange juice as well but the look of confusion on guests face when they walked into the breakfast area said it all.
