Formerly/Currently a Student Dorm Building?

Posted Nov 17, 2017
Pros: The area shuttle and the proximity to downtown.
Cons: The hallways felt very much like a student dorm. It would also be better to have valet parking as the garage is not connected.
Location: Very close to downtown and the Classic Center. Shuttle was super helpful.
Stayed for 1 night to attend a concert at the Classic Center.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your recent experiences. I'm please that our shuttle service was helpful in allowing you to stay away from the noise and crowds downtown, but still get you to and from your concert without any problems. Our hotel was built in 1957 as a hotel, when spaces were smaller than they are today; but our regular upgrades have allowed us to over all the amenities you would expect in a hotel built today. I hope the next time you attend a concert in Athens you will allow us to serve you again. Bill

No TV

Posted Oct 30, 2017
I could not watch television , it did not work properly. Could not open the windows to get fresh air, and they charge an extra $10 for parking. The staff did not seem concerned with my problems. For the same money I could have stayed at the Holiday Inn and they offer you breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your recent experiences. I'm disappointed that you experienced the problems you did during your stay. Our team works hard to ensure the correct information is available for our hotel guests and that all amenities are working properly. The impression we left with you that we "did not seem concerned with my problems" is unacceptable and I will share your comments with my team; whether or not we can correct a deficiency, our team should always be helpful. Please accept my apologies. Bill

Nice location close to downtown

Posted Oct 30, 2017
Pros: close to downtown
Cons: fix the shower pressure and put a door on the shower I stayed cold!!
Rooms were very small, and there was no door on the shower and the shower pressure was terrible. Beds were old and not comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experiences during you recent stay. I apologize for the lack of water pressure your experienced and the quality of the bedding; I've shared your comments with our maintenance team and they are looking into correcting these issues. I understand that a shower curtain in the bathtub does not trap the heat as well as a shower with a door and this lead to a poor experience. We will be replacing our tubs with showers in the near future. My staff is trained to inquire about a guests stay during departure and ensure that our guests enjoyed their stay with us, if not, we adjust their bill accordingly; in this case we should have adjusted your entire stay. I apologize that we may not have handled you experiences properly during our interactions with you. While I understand you may be reluctant to stay with us again, I assure you that your experiences are not the norm and guarantee your satisfaction should you allow us the privilege of serving you again. Nice hotel, very lots of nearby places to eat.

Posted Oct 15, 2017
Over all our stay went well. Check in was fast and friendly. There are no issues with the room. It was clean and comfortable. One thing, the pillows on the bed are too small. They give you three pillows for each bed but you can't stack them up. If you're asleep and your toll over your head falls off the pillow., they're that small

GREAT LOCATION!

Avoid rooms by the elevator! Everyone coming in after 2am, you can hear all conversations and "fun" they are having on the way back to their room.

Tailgaters Beware

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: Students seem to be a lot of the employees which was very refreshing. Very energized and happy to please.
Perfect location, great staff, convenient parking. BUT, tailgaters are very territorial. Spots can not be reserved but you can stake your area at 7am. We were asked to move by neighboring fans because other people were coming. Actually got nasty! Other people did not even end up coming and we stayed put. You do not have to stay at hotel to tailgate on grounds. Most delicious Bloody Mary of my life. Bathrooms in lobby were continuously cleaned. Coffee shop in lobby was A+ amenity.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your recent impressions of our hotel. We're very fortunate and pleased that we have the university's best and brightest working with us to ensure our guests have a positive experience and appreciate you recognizing that as well. College football fans in the south are very passionate and sometimes that passion can create an unintended impression, please forgive us. I hope you will allow us to serve you again should your travels bring you back to Athens; we will have your beverage of choice waiting.... Bill

Quiet before the Storm

Posted Sep 15, 2017
We stayed in Athens to go to the Auburn - Clemson game since it was close. Many storm evacuees were staying also. The staff was very accommodating especially under conditions and they were short handed with the Hurricane coming but handled the challenge well! I have stayed here several times and each time is very relaxing and top rate! I would highly reccomend this Hotel! I did have a hard time searching for it since I call it the UGA Conference Center and Hotel and the search engines brought it up as Center for Continuing Education etc. I finally had to search hotels on Lumpkin Street to find the proper location and phone number 👍
