The reviews about cleanliness and friendly staff are correct. The hotel deserves an A for those factors. I just had a few minor issues, and the pool temperature is bigger deal for me than it would be for others, since my daughter loves heated pools. The location is a bit weird and is in between some seemingly sketchy buildings. However, for being in the historic district, the location actually makes complete sense. There really isn’t anywhere else that the hotel could be located. If you have pets, you will definitely have to walk somewhere in town to find grass. As some reviews mentioned, it is really hard to keep the floor from getting wet from the shower. It’s the basin design that causes you to have to careful not to let the curtains drip outside of the basin, but oh well I guess. The place was nice and new and decorated pleasantly. If the pool temperature had been just a few degrees warmer, then I would have really enjoyed that feature. As it was, I kept waiting for the times when warm water would be pumped out of the vents in order to warm back up from being in warmer than cold but not quite warm pool water. Without the sun shining down and being in indoor temperatures, the pool temperature definitely needed at least a small boost: 5 degrees to be comfortable, 3 degrees as a compromise for not heating up the air in the common area too much for non-pool users. I believe that’s the issue. If they turn the temp up, it increases the air temp and humidity.
