Springsteen Getaway

There were no windows and the room was quite small. It was difficult to get close enough to the mirror to put makeup on in the bathroom. It was very clean and quiet though. Close to the attractions. Did not have to drive anywhere but parking was expensive.

Great location

Posted Feb 20, 2016
The room was small but very comfortable and clean. Wonderful staff but not really happy about the off-site parking at $25/night. I would still stay there in the future.

Convenience - Not Luxury

Posted Feb 16, 2016 on Hotels
Cheersport Nationals at the GWCC. LOTS of CHEERLEADERS! An old building located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. I valeted my vehicle, even though there was a parking garage across the street. Guest services were pleasant. Extremely small elevators & astonishing small double bedroom! A family of 4 would be cramped! Couldn't connect to free WiFi. The bathroom was outfitted for only 1 person. The shower head valve was broken so when you turned on the water, the shower would come on as well, even without pulling the shower knob. No toilet lid cover. Rusted metal trim outlined the interior bathroom door. Cable Tv, microwave, mini fridge were available in the room. We didn't eat breakfast, so can not comment on the food. The hotel was a convenience, not a luxury. My stay was pleasant, it served the purpose. We spent more time at the GWCC, than the hotel. The price of this hotel should not be compared to other Holiday Inns. You're paying for the name, events in the area, & specific weekend holidays, (Valentine's Day.) Upon departure, I mentioned my concerns to the front desk personnel which was jotted down on a sticky note. If I'm in the area again and no other hotels available, I will stay here just because it's convenient.

Smaller than shown in pictures

Posted Feb 15, 2016 on Hotels
When we first arrived to the hotel, my boyfriend and I were told it's a $25 valet parking fee. I have never met A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS to not have free parking. In the pictures, it looks like a regular sized hotel, but it's not. We walked in and it's TINY. You're squished. We check in and the lady gave us our keys and we take a ride on our TINY and out of date elevators. When we finally arrived to our room on the 6th floor, the keys didn't work. So my boyfriend made the track downstairs to get working keys. He came back up, and they still didn't work. That's when I went down and tried to fix it and only one of them ended up working. When we got into our room, it's a 5 step walk to the bed. Oh, and I bought the queen size bed package but we were given a full. luckly, we're in good shape so we fit in the bed and bathroom. I would be very concerned if someone was over weight because they wouldn't be able y fit in the bathroom. It may be the size of a retail store fitting room. If you don't plan on spending any time in your room, this is the perfect place for you!

Thank you Taylor for your comments. It's unfortunate for us that we do not own the parking garage and parking fees are assessed as in many downtown locations. We appreciate that you stayed with us and hope that you will return in the future.

Nice clean inexpensive hotel in downtown Atlanta

Posted Feb 15, 2016
Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. Perfect for a one night stay for a show at the Tabernacle which was right across the street. Would definitely stay here again.

Unexpectedly, this was the nicest hotel, ever.

Posted Feb 13, 2016
I was expecring a normal HE or other budget hotel, bed, small room weird smell. It was NOT the case. I don't know why, other than my room didn't have a window and the corporate headquarters for holiday inn are in Atlanta, but the room I got was nicer than the Hilton or the omni that I stayed in recently. I would highly recommend this particular hotel. I don't know that every room is as nice as mine was, but no kidding, it was as nice as any hotel room I have ever had. To sum it up, it's an older hotel, so the on areas are clean, but old, but the room was amazing. James the maintenance guy gave me some resturant tips and they were great. I was there for a week and it was almost as good as home.

Frost on the windows

Rooms were ok, but windows were frosted, so could not see out. Odd. Couldn't tell if it was raining. It was. Breakfast was much better than most.

Enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was much better than I was expecting for a free breakfast. The room was on the small side but I personally don't mind that. The best part was the location as it is a short walk to the conference center, the museums and tourist attractions and the bars/nightlife.
