Downtown Atlanta

Pros: Location
Cons: Some remodeling.
Location: Nice area with several nice taverns.
Good location! Older hotel. Overall good experience.

Don't expect to get much sleep

Pros: The staff was amazing. I travel somewhat often for both business and pleasure and have never experienced a better level of customer service.
Cons: They need to devise some kind of sound proofing.
Location: I was only in town to meet with the IRS at the federal building. It was convenient for that for what it may be worth.
The staff could not possibly be any more friendly and helpful. Everyone I spoke to there was outstanding. The facilities are well maintained and there were no issues with the room. The shampoo provided smelled exactly like Wrigley's spearmint gum, which made putting it in my hair feel a little odd, but it served its purpose so I have no real complaint about it. The problem is the lack of sound proofing. I was an unwilling listener to a very earnest conversation in the room to my right. Then I heard the tyke in the room to my left decide to listen to reason in time to avoid a spanking. A lively conversation went on in the hotel's courtyard until late in the evening. In short, my 8:30 meeting the next morning was made less pleasant than it might have been. It really is a lovely hotel. You just can't sleep there..

Your comment about the shampoo is funny, we get that a lot but we also hear it's great for your hair. We think the shampoo smells refreshing! We do apologize that you ran into some issues with noise during your visit. Please know that a call to our front desk can often help with surrounding rooms and the people in our courtyard. Long stay for a review course

Pros: The big hot morning breakfast was the best. Great staff(very attentive during breakfast to make sure all my needs were met).
Cons: Check the doors. Make sure they're easier to open. Aside from that, everything seemed fine.
Location: I had to attend a review course and didn't have much time to do anything else.
The only minor problem was my room door was sticking a lot so opening the door was slightly hard. As from that, I enjoyed my stay and would do again in the future if the opportunity presented itself. I was told there would be a big hot breakfast and boy was it BIG! The staff was very attentive to be sure my needs were met. Almost motherly I might say. Wish there was a swimming pool, but thought this place was very worth it for the price I was paying. I was initially told by the front desk, if I needed a cab, they would call and it should be there is about 5 minutes. Thought this was just hype. On the day I was leaving, I asked the front desk to call and the cab was there in less than 5 minutes.

Hotel close to everything.

The front desk staff was amazing. The breakfast was the best I've had in a long time. However the cleaning staff didn't do their job we found a used bandaid in our bed. Asked the front desk for new bedding I heard them call the cleaning staff and ask for new bedding when we got in at 2 am nothing had been. We had to move rooms at 2 am. Not cool. The front desk staff was very nice.

Nice, but noisy

Pros: Rate was comparable to what you receive. Just one block and 1/2 from MARTA which saved us a bunch in shuttle, taxi and Uber fees.
Cons: Soundproofing! Very noisy at times if you are spending a lot of time in your room. We were on the street side, courtyard could be better.
Location: Close to MARTA and easy walk to restaurants.
Spent long weekend in Atlanta. Room was clean and staff was awesome! Free breakfast was an added bonus.

Good in a pinch, but that's all

Pros: TV, dependable Internet access, staff.
Cons: Add mechanism to keep drafts from entering room, fix heating and cooling units, make chairs easier to use.
Location: Max Lager's is okay, but the wait could be extremely long for carry out. One should be aware of that.
Personally, I don't like staying at hotels where you open your door and you're immediately outside. One of the reasons is exactly what I experienced at this hotel. It was cold during my stay in Atlanta. There was a draft coming under the door. In addition to the draft, the heating and cooling unit wasn't functioning. I turned on the continuous fan, but it did not work. The TV was very nice. I enjoyed that, but the chair was very difficult to configure. It got stuck in a position that rendered it useless. Staff was very nice and helpful. I was also frustrated by the rate. Originally, I booked for 3 nights and later discovered I needed an extra day. When I changed my reservation, the rate increased by $40 per day. This might be the norm, but I was not happy. The place helped, because I was in a pinch, but I will not return unless absolutely necessary.
