Nice, but noisy

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Rate was comparable to what you receive. Just one block and 1/2 from MARTA which saved us a bunch in shuttle, taxi and Uber fees.
Cons: Soundproofing! Very noisy at times if you are spending a lot of time in your room. We were on the street side, courtyard could be better.
Location: Close to MARTA and easy walk to restaurants.
Spent long weekend in Atlanta. Room was clean and staff was awesome! Free breakfast was an added bonus.

Good in a pinch, but that's all

Posted Mar 17, 2017
Pros: TV, dependable Internet access, staff.
Cons: Add mechanism to keep drafts from entering room, fix heating and cooling units, make chairs easier to use.
Location: Max Lager's is okay, but the wait could be extremely long for carry out. One should be aware of that.
Personally, I don't like staying at hotels where you open your door and you're immediately outside. One of the reasons is exactly what I experienced at this hotel. It was cold during my stay in Atlanta. There was a draft coming under the door. In addition to the draft, the heating and cooling unit wasn't functioning. I turned on the continuous fan, but it did not work. The TV was very nice. I enjoyed that, but the chair was very difficult to configure. It got stuck in a position that rendered it useless. Staff was very nice and helpful. I was also frustrated by the rate. Originally, I booked for 3 nights and later discovered I needed an extra day. When I changed my reservation, the rate increased by $40 per day. This might be the norm, but I was not happy. The place helped, because I was in a pinch, but I will not return unless absolutely necessary.

It's got character.

Posted Mar 9, 2017
If you're expecting a hotel that is a Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, or even an Indigo... all of which are not that far away from the Inn on the Peachtrees, well, then... go pay their prices and stay in one of them. If you want something with character and charm, well, try this. I was in Atlanta for 2 nights for a conference and while it is definitely under renovations and definitely not 4 or 5 star quality, that's not what this hotel is meant to be. It had character. My room has been renovated, although the desk and the drawers ensemble was old and needs replacing, everything else was pretty new. And the little soaps were really nice. It was also well appointed in terms of TV with lots of channels, in-room safe, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, and lots of towels. I didn't like the pillows (too tall for my liking), but there were plenty of them. The breakfast was basic, but really, it was free, there was Tazo tea, and what more did I really need other than perhaps some kind of bread that was not white bread. The staff who work in this hotel were absolutely lovely. So polite and really nice. They make the place shine.

Great location

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Could use a few repairs.
Location: Olympic park, all the attractions and downtown just steps away.
Very nice hotel, nothing fancy and it doesn't need to be. Excellent location just off the interstate and all of the attractions. Everything we wanted at a nice price.

Decent motel close to downtown

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: Close to MARTA, clean and safe.
Cons: Would be nice to have a microwave in the room.
Location: Close to the downtown and close to MARTA so easy to get to the convention center, GA Tech and shopping.
The facility is undergoing renovations so some parts are bright and shiny new and others are obviously still to be tackled. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the bed and some of the newer upgrades in the bathroom. The shower stall was clean and the water spray was sufficient. My view was of the roof of the first floor but all I wanted was a clean, safe, easily accessible room and that is what I got. The breakfast was fine and filling. The in-room Keurig was a nice surprise. The mini-fridge worked well to keep my drinks cold and fruit chilled. Only wish there had been a microwave so I could have had some popcorn for late night munchies. Also, the free wifi was fairly weak and slow but I did not expect it to be super fast anyway. I looked at the exercise room but did not have a chance to use it; it had some wight machines, an elliptical, and treadmills, as to be expected.

Hotel was great for down town location

Posted Jan 28, 2017
It was an old hotel that was close to downtown. Easy access to shopping, eating and public transportation. Outside was antique but inside was modern and updated.

The hotel was built back in 1957. So yes pretty old. We have updated many of the amenities inside and are currently in the process of renovating our outdoor courtyard. Hope you will stay with us in the future and experience the wonderful changes we have made. Mike Gratton General Manager
