Microtel Atlanta/Buckhead

Posted Jan 13, 2017
Location: Unless you have a car, there is very little of anything nearby.
Internet (wifi connection) was spotty, sometime on, sometimes off making it hard to get any work done in the room. I got stuck with a smoking room — did not realize hotels still offered those which means all your clothes stink by the time you get out of there — very disappointing. Not many options for eating nearby. Very limited choices for continental breakfast in the hotel.

Not sure

Was good before. This last stay was discounted for construction ok. But the toilet was stopped up and we found trash from previous tenant. Considering location it has a good price and warm showers.

Passing through

A few clubs in the area that go strong ALL night long. Bring earplugs if you plan on staying here. Also, the rooms are very outdated and not very clean. The staff was pretty friendly and willing to help. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you're looking for a "charge by the hour" type of facility.

Pictures on the web are old. Hotel is old & dirty

Posted Dec 19, 2016
Pictures on the website must be from when the hotel first opened. And it's also under construction. The guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful.

Breaking News: Cheap Hotel has Roaches

Posted Dec 15, 2016
The lobby smelled like incense and weed. The girl who checked me in had clearly just smoked. When I got in to my room, I was greeted by a roach. The room next to me had a balcony full of young men carrying on and smoking all night. I'm not sure how many people were in that one room, but I'd figure there were at least 10, it sounded like 50. All that being said, it was half the price of the DoubleTree across the street. Given those 2 choices I'd stay there again. I didn't get fleas, so that's cool. If you do stay here, check out Monty's Bar right across the street. Its dark and divey, but they had great live music on a Tuesday and the crowd was super friendly.

Boy, has this hotel gone downhill in 2+ years

Posted Dec 10, 2016
Pros: The location to I-85 and downtown is its best attribute.
Cons: Housekeeping needs definite improvement. There is no attention to detail.
Location: The location to I-85 and downtown is its best attribute.
I stayed in this hotel in Feb 2014 to go to a show at the Fabulous Fox because of its proximity to downtown and price and everything was great. When I decided to go back to Atlanta with my boyfriend this month, I chose this Microtel with no reservation due to my last positive experience. Was I disappointed by this visit, and I will never stay there again. We reserved a queen "suite." We were only given one shampoo and one soap (for two people). The refrigerator smelled like something died in it, and took two days to have it replaced. I saw two people write down in their notes about the refrigerator but it took three attempts before anyone ever did anything about it. On the second day, housekeeping replaced only one towel (leaving one of us not able to have a towel for a shower) and just refolded one towel to appear new. On the third evening, we came back to our room to see a man sleeping on the floor at the end of the hallway. I learned later, after we were on our way home, that the police are called to this hotel several times a week. The location was so great for the price, I hated that it has gone downhill so much, but it really has.

Huge waterbug crawling on bed. Checked out!!

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Pros: Nothing at all. Worst experience in life. Immediately requested refund and checked out
Cons: Waterbug crawling on bed. Bed skirt was dirty. Clientele was suspicious. Guy on elevator casually said he forgot his burner phone. Another guy asked for a slice of my pizza. Worst experience on my life. Immediately asked for a refund and checked out.
