"Usually good, but this time was disappointing"
I've stayed at the Borgata dozens of times within the past couple years, but this stay at the Water Club was my first disappointing experience. First, when I checked in, the clerk said I booked a smoking room. I pulled up my hotel confirmation, which demonstrated that I did not request a smoking room, and she said that the only non-smoking room was on the fifth floor. I agreed, though I was annoyed that I was being downgraded for a mistake I didn't even make. Later that evening, we returned to our room to find that the people next door were throwing a massive rager in their room. The music was blasting, and more and more people were showing up by the minute. I attempted to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work properly, so I dialed zero and was then routed to the front desk. I told them about the noisy neighbors and I requested we move, but he said they were sold out, but that he would transfer me to security to tell them the problem. I was a bit taken aback that they couldn't simply do this themselves, but no big deal. I explained to security that there was a noise issue, and they said they'd come upstairs. After about ten minutes, with the noise still carrying on unabated, we took all of our stuff from the room and went to the front desk, where I told them we would either need a new room or we would just check out and go home. They moved us to the Borgata tower, which was fine, but if I wanted to stay in that tower, I would have booked it myself. Not impressed.
