Nice cosy hotel, with clean and comfy room

Pros: Room size and cleanliness. Comfy bed
We only stayed one night, and had dinner booked elsewhere. However the room was very clean and extremely comfortable, with a lovely view of the garden area. The owner who dealt with us, and directed us to our room, was very friendly, as was his wife. Would stay again

Nice hotel in Perthshire village

Pros: Very convenient for the A9 as we were breaking a long drive from Liverpool to the Moray Firth.
Cons: Cannot think of anything to complain about at all.
After a tiring car journey beset by diversions and queing traffic on the M6 we arrived to find a relaxing haven in the village hotel. The accommodation was excellent, and the breakfast was beautifully cooked. Our hosts were friendly and made us feel very relaxed , we did have a Labrador and Young lurcher with us, but exercising them was was easy and close to hand. We would recommend the Smiddy Haugh if you want to unwind in a well appointed and homely country inn in Perthshire.

Pros: Convenient location, reasonably priced, with good food and a clean room.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, using it as a base to go and play at local golf courses. The location is good and easy to find. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The quality of the food, which was home and freshly-cooked was excellent and reasonably priced.

Overnight

Pros: Location, appearance, the dogs
Cons: I think you need to make sure the bathroom facilities are what you want before you book.
Location: Not much to do that we saw here, but reasonably close to Loch Lomond and Aviemore
A convenient overnight stop to the A9, this hotel looks like what tourists would picture a Scottish hotel looking like. Rooms are upstairs, over a restaurant and a pub. The staff was friendly, helping take the bags up to our room through the maze of hallways, and keeping kitchen staff in case we wanted a meal when we checked in. The room was comfortable (careful, we were 'upgraded' to en suite facilities...did not see in the booking some facilities were not en suite!) We also enjoyed the 3 resident dogs, 2 of whom were super friendly and outgoing. Parking is on the street in front of the hotel. Breakfast...solid, cooked to order, and served in a lovely dining room. The shower was good...the bed was comfortable. I don't understand any poor reviews. The town is not a tourist attraction, and the rooms are difficult to reach based on the complicated hallways and stairs, but these are common in Scotland. Smiddy Haugh would be a fine choice for overnight accommodations!

Pros: Everything, especially the dog friendliness!
Cons: Nothing
Location: Lovely quiet location
The Smiddy Haugh exceeded our expectations, room immaculate, food superb and our dog had a ball playing with Willow, Rinn and Blue in the large, safe beer garden. Thanks to all the staff for making our short stay so enjoyable, we will definitely be back! Ginnie was incredible, nothing was too much trouble.

We were staying for 1 night ready for t in the park early the following day. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and accomodating. Not a bad thing to say about our stay. The room was so clean and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden area having access to the bar all day getting us right in the mood for our weekend! It had a real homely, friendly feel about the place and we both felt really comfortable. Thanks again for our stay.
