Nice hotel, but some things could improve.

The hotel is quite nice. The pool is beautiful and if you like reading, like me, it's quite pleasing to read some with all that landscape. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
The principal manager, Aaron, was friendly. GREAT chef.
His wife (the only other manager), on the other hand, needs to improve imho. We exchanged some emails before going there, and I replied to one of her questions as to in which Ferry I would arrive (they are pre-scheduled), so that they could arrange someone to pick us up (I replied: the one from 8pm). I got there on time in that Ferry and there was someone with a "Delamore Lodge" sign, but to my surprise, indicating someone else's name. The person was not expecting me and my wife at all, but instead another couple. The person offered us a ride and we took it. Roselyn, Aaron's wife, never came to talk to us about this. Or about anything. Not even a "welcome greeting". A "sorry" or "my bad" from her would be enough given the trouble we got into, squeezing ourselves with all those begs and somewhat bothering the other couple. Also, the only time Roselyn showed up was on our way out: she wanted to remind us that our check out was due in some 10-15 minutes while we were on the pool. And then, while checking us out, she erroneously charged my credit card in excess of 300 NZD. Anyway, unlike Aaron, she clearly needs to improve.
Dinner was great, but way too expensive. 380 NZD for 2! That was 2,5x our bill in Botswana - one of the finest in Auckland...

Roselyn Storey is the Owner of Delamore not Aaron's wife - she was not present during guests stay - She resides in Auckland
Roselyn Storey was not aware at any time of the mix up with transport during her days away from the lodge
Roselyn did attend on guests departure day and requested after check out time if they could vacate their suite for the service staff - Roselyn also offered for them to stay out the pool after check out which was declined
Aaron greeted the guests on arrival.
Dinners are a set menu of 4 courses for $184.00 per person - the remainder of your bill was wine.
The error on the account was immediately remedied and apologised for.
I hope this explains why Roselyn Storey did not welcome you or attend you while you were at her lodge.
