Final night in Auckland

Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Location: Central in CBD, next to Britomart station
Having stayed 3 nights the previous weekend, it was a pleasure to return, and we were welcomed as returning guests

Good central hotel

Pros: Central location, clean modern rooms. Helpful staff.
Cons: Valet parking rates were a bit steep, and the rooms themselves were quite small.
Location: Very close to the harbour, the central retail shopping district and the main transport hub, Britomart (all right on the doorstep).
We had booked a room with twin queen sized beds for my wife, 18 year old son and me to spend a couple of nights in Auckland. That wasn't our preferred sleeping arrangements, but accommodation was at a premium in Auckland for the time we were there because the third and deciding rugby test match between the All Blacks and the British Lions was on at the time. Luckily, the hotel had overbooked that type of room and so we ended up with two separate side-by-side rooms ... score! While a good outcome for us, it was illustrative of the fact that this hotel, whilst good, lacks the precision to be a great hotel.

Cons: Staff training in restaurant/kitchen
Enjoyed visit, hotel close to everywhere I wanted go such as art gallery, Britomart, Queen Street shopping.

Central city hotel

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff on reception were lovely. Parking is a huge issue and no signage for valet parking. Buffet breakfast and staff in Vue were shocking. No being shown to a table. Lack of care and attention resulted in no cutlery on 90% of tables and no glasses for juice. Coffee machine didn't work and there was no service for barista coffee. Food wasn't replenished in a timely manner either.
