This motel is a great location for us and we have stayed here before but the room this time was terrible. No hot water for the shower, so cold showers!!! Main kitchen tap leaked, and the switch to turn the kitchen hob on was broken and dangerous. Not the experience we were expecting at all.

Have stayed here several times before and feel very much at home. Once living nearby on the North Shore we now live 2hours plus drive away so the Poenamo is very convenient for us when visiting Auckland.

The property was fairly old but it was all I could wish for. I expected just a room but I had a fully equipped kitchen. The lady on reception was charming too…so friendly. Just what I needed after a long flight from the jk.

I did not like there were guests drinking and making alot of noise into the early morning. Its states no smoking on the property but many guests were smoking. Pool needed to be serviced. Room was okay but the walls are thin so you could hear everything

Mattress was a disaster.
I try to find positive in every motel. This one had great showers! We were in a studio unit. The mattress should have been thrown in the landfill years ago. After complaining they changed us to a second studio unit for the next night. Once again the mattress was well passed it's use by date.

The room we booked looked nothing like the photos at all, no where to even sit in the room, we left after being there for 10 minutes, took a few days and lots of different excuses to get a refund, at least we got it back.

Rooms were nice and staff were very kind and helpful was a bit aloud with next door neighbor but was very accessible and a short walk for some food plus the pool and restaurants were easily accessible overall great stay would recommend staying there again 4 out of 5

Very suitable room for our brief Auckland stay. Despite backing onto the pool area and being on a main road, the nights we stayed were very quiet, plus the beds were comfortable and a heat pump was a useful addition. The only downside was the wetroom shower, which had very slippery and uneven tiled flooring - the water didn't get directed to the drain, leaving the floor very wet and pooling around the toilet. Also the water temperature fluctuated drastically, quickly becoming burning hot with no time to move out of the way or change the setting, then reducing in heat again. I think these issues need to be looked at before someone gets hurt.

Very unclean - fridge, shower, dust and build up everywhere, glass rings on the furniture, stove top and rangehood, , cigarette butts everywhere in the sheltered stair cases, no smoke alarms in room, uncomfortable beds, room stinks of air freshener - so much so that my own linen needs cleaning, broken lamps next to bed. yes its cheap but heck its gross

We had to stay an extra night, and thankfully we were able to get another room. Unfortunately no apartments, which we stayed in the previous night, were available so had to stay in a studio room. Unfortunately the studio room wasn't very pleasant. The bathroom had mould all up the walls. Bathroom basin had lots of hair around it on arrival. We felt that it just really needed a good clean and a refurbish. An update of the rooms seems to be needed. The positives however, would be the fantastic staff, who were welcoming, friendly and informative. Plenty of eating places and a gas station nearby. A quick commute to Southern Cross Hospital and the Northern Motorway.

We stayed in one of the deluxe king apartments further down the road from reception. A nice setup with everything we needed. Very modern interiors. Was clean internally, very comfortable bed with nice crisp linens. A definite bonus having a secured under building garage parking, although would have been easier to get into if we had a smaller vehicle than a truck. Property had a nice bar, plenty of eating places nearby. Close to a has station, and our commute to Southern Cross Hospital was easy, fast and convenient. Staff at reception and onsite bar were very welcoming and friendly.

Very comfortable, friendly staff. Buildings a little tired but beds are incredibly comfortable. Location is perfect for motorway access and not far to drive to beach. I stay here often as rates are reasonable too.

I absolutely would not have booked here if I knew there was a pub right outside my room playing very loud music through the night. The people from the pub can see right into your room. Do not book this place if you want to get sleep!

Had everything we needed. - Straight-forward and painless check-in/check-out. - Warm. - Decent sound proofing. - Comfortable bedding. - Daily housekeeping. - All electronics worked as expected. - Protected basement parking space. - Convenient location - very short walk to conveniences. The only critique I have on the apartment is the shower. It is very spacious and the water is quick to warm up. However, there was a slight gap between the edge of the door and the frame. This gap allowed water to splash outside of the shower. Also, if you turn the water pressure too high, the water may rise higher than the stopper/seal where you enter the shower. The bathroom won't flood, but just be wary of this. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay there and will probably stay there again.
