Waldorf tetra Wakefield St

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: Even though the parking was unexpectedly extra, it was still a cheap stay.
Cons: The facilities could be checked for operation beforehand, and wifi could be free.
Location: Very close to the centre of town. Lots to do nearby.
Parking my car was $20 extra, and a short walk from the hotel, and there was a $50 bond applied to my credit card which they say will be refunded in 4 to 5 days. There was some stuff left in the room frm previous guests (assorted picnic plates, serviettes & a half drunk lemonade), and the TV wasn't working. After 2 hours they told me there was nothing they could do about the Tv and "sorry". I insisted, and 5 minutes after that a new power cable was delivered & the TV worked. Pretty reluctantly though. Aside from that it was a perfectly adequate room.

Close to uni/shops and long term parking.

On arriving we did find understanding the receptionist a little difficult and non engaging. Facilities were perfect for our need that particular weekend. Appreciated cleanliness especially bathroom. The bed was a but soft for us.

Convenient to city centre and transport,

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Pros: It's closeness to the city
Cons: Heating
Location: Auckland City centre. Sky tower, ferries to Devonport, Waiheke and Rangitoto Islands.trains and buses to malls and other attractions such as the zoo.
Overall a good place to stay at a reasonable rate. It's not flash, but staff are helpful. Only downside was the heaters didn't work, but they did provide a small fan heater.

OK, but better places nearby for similar prices

Pros: The staff
Cons: The cleanliness
The staff were great and very helpful but the rooms were tired and not very clean. Beds were very soft and so a bit uncomfortable.

Great location for conferences close by

Posted Jun 17, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Price, size [compact], location, well priced off street parking
Great location at top end of CBD, a little hard to find initially as little street presence. Apartment tidy. Twin bathrooms a bonus if more than 2 staying. Wifi expensive. Would be nice if free. Building clean & well maintained. Quiet
