20 Minutes to UT campusPosted Sep 16, 2015
Pros: The hotel was nice, clean and friendly. No complaints
Cons: Road noise from the interstate was noticeable but not overly intrusive.
Location: Restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, Saltgrass, Chuy's, etc are nearby. IKEA is just 5 minutes north, Lots of other options in the area too.
We chose to stay a bit farther out from the Univ. of Texas campus for easier access to the Interstate and to avoid the congestion near campus. This served our purposes very well. Planning for morning/afternoon rush hour traffic is a must. A regular 20 minute drive took us 50 minutes with heavy traffic both ways. Still, this area is convenient to restaurant and shopping and didn't feel overly busy or congested.

Comfortable overnightPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Decor large king room and friendly staff
Cons: Complimentary coffee and breakfast would have been great
My husband and I planned to attend our son's charity event BBQ in Lampasas and stayed one night in round rock Marriott. We were very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful! The bistro in the hotel served pretty good quesadillas and flat bread pizza. My husband raved about the margaritas. Our third floor room had a spacious balcony with a table and two chairs. We were tired so we watched an old movie and microwaved some popcorn before getting a good night sleep. Just what we needed!

Bugs in room and staff was not concernedPosted May 31, 2015 on Hotels
Shortly after arriving and unpacking we noticed small black bugs all over the desk and dresser where some of our clothes, other items and food were. We moved our stuff off of the furniture, killed the bugs and left for the evening. When we returned after midnight we noticed many more bugs on the same furniture. We looked around the rest of the room and especially the bed and decided since they were only confined to the one area and it was late we would just go to sleep since we were getting up early to leave. I called to let the front desk know the situation. When we were leaving in the morning I stopped by the front desk to again talk to someone (not the same person I spoke to the night before) and she told me that they were aware of the bugs and they were harmless and did not "bite". So I guess that makes bugs ok in a hotel room? Neither staff that I spoke with offered any type of compensation, I was not expecting a free room but breakfast or even a Starbucks from your lobby restaurant would have been a nice gesture. Wow, not impressed Marriott, at all. Will think twice when booking my next room for sure. Also we checked in at 3:30pm and out at around 8:00am and the "free wifi" never worked the entire time we were there and was told that was because of how full the hotel was that night. Well when we checked in at 3:30pm, there was about 10 cars in the parking lot and still no wifi.

Clean and ComfyPosted May 22, 2015 on Hotels
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool needed to be cleaned, but the whirlpool was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A continental breakfast was not offered, but there were several restaurants (Rudy's!)in walking distance as well as great stores (IKEA and the Outlets). I would definitely stay here again.

Completely satisfied, would stay here againPosted Mar 30, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel was very well kept up. Room was super clean. Front desk folks were very nice and helpful. AC was wonderfully cold. A bonus was the Bistro - a counter-service sandwich and salad place that sold Starbuck's. I had a good egg-white breakfast sandwich there, too. (They also sell beer and wine.) Felt very safe, hotel was quiet. Freeway is right outside but with the window closed, couldn't hear it at all. I was really happy with the whole experience and would stay there again, if I were in Round Rock.
