Pros: Location
Cons: Everything. Customer service was inexplicable, room contents, cleanliness. Advertised "free breakfast" when in reality, it was granola bars.
Location: Being so close to E. 6th was great. Regardless, I would never stay here again.
The ONE positive comment I have about this hotel is its location. I was checking in and the guests in front of me were talking to the front desk about how the room that they had just checked in to had feces in the toilet, bloody towels on the ground and dirt all over the counters. The front desk attendant did NOTHING to help these guests and just said "well I'll just cancel your reservation then" and wanted them to pay a higher price for a new room or go to a different hotel. No apologies, no helpful solutions to their problem, nothing. The room is old. There are no dishes, coffee pot, silverware, or anything. There was food left in the cupboard. The "continental breakfast" is granola bars and coffee. I called down to get extra towels and the attendant (same gentleman as the one in the story above) said "I'm the only one here so you can come down and get some if you want". Very rude, not helpful at all, and WAY over priced.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything needs to be improved.
Location: Great Location! But that is it. In walking distance to many bars and restaurants.
This motel is gross, old and uncomfortable. The bed is hard as a rock. The air conditioner was broken. The shower was nasty, not sure if it was dirty or just old and worn out. Everything is old and gross. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more to stay in a decent place. Motel 6 is nicer than this place.

Very affordable for such a great location

Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Parking lot should have some reserved spaces for hotel guests only. The front of the fridge was really dirty and some other things were run down.
Location: It's right in the middle of all the downtown bars and restaurants so if you need quiet, this isn't going to work for you.
They've found a way to charge a reasonable rate right in the middle of downtown. They do that by saving money on other things. This isn't the Ritz. But the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had what we needed.

Needs TLC

The TV wasn't working and it only showed static. The bathroom was clean but they left someone's used shampoo in the tub which made me feel like they didn't really "clean" and just replaced the shampoo and towels. The lamps in my room didn't work so it was fairly dark in there. I would've complained but I was only there for a night and decided to just deal with it.

This was an excellent choice for our weekend. We attended the historic Women's March, so the location was great and the free parking was a sweet bonus. The bed was comfortable and the staff was awesome. We had two requests of the the front desk and they responded within minutes. Cheers to them!

Extended Stay Hotel Downtown Austin

Pros: free parking
Cons: everything
Location: convenient to walk to the Capitol, plenty of restaurant choices nearby
Sadly, this was the only downtown hotel that had a room at the time we were looking. We learned why. The first room we were given had a non-working HVAC unit. The second room at least had air, so we agreed to it even though the refrigerator door was filthy and everything was just generally shabby and run down. Later, my husband found the hugest cockroach he'd ever seen crawling in the bathtub. He immediately began searching again for hotel rooms but no luck, so we had to stay. The next morning, no hot water. The front desk said they were working on it but no, there was no hot water at this time. When we returned to the room later in the day, there was literally NO water coming out of the hot water tap. It had been shut off, no notice to alert guests posted anywhere. The continental breakfast offered consisted of packaged muffins and granola bars, or instant oatmeal.....no bowls or spoons however. Absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed in and for the price, ridiculous

Average hotel

Pros: Price
Cons: Cable selection average, everything about it average. No communication when there was a problem.
Location: Austin looks like a fun city, was there on business, had some good food, caters to a young crowd, lots of homeless, never felt threatened.
Long term stay hotel, price reasonable, shower not good, day one: mixing valve on shower not good, either too hot or too cold; day two, no hot water at all, water heater in hotel broke (no notification, no apology, no offer of discount or voucher), day three, shower lukewarm at best. Otherwise average hotel room for decent price.

Clean hotel with rude staff

The hotel is very clean and in an awesome location if you're wanting a place to walk home drunk from being on 6th. However, one of the staff, Paul was the rudest front desk attendant I've encountered. He was short and I'm almost certain he gave approval to boot my car. I gave my license plate number and come time to check out I found my car had been booted. (The hotel has free parking for customers, boots for non-customers). The parking lot attendant told me he was authorized to boot my vehicle by the front desk. I was a paying customer and was within my stay time in the parking lot. Completely ridiculous. The only positive part of my stay was the hearing impaired maid who was very sweet and helpful and the cleanliness of the room. Also, the toilets did not flush and there was construction right outside our window. Paul told us "I'll give you guys a real nice room." Pretty sure he gave us the worst room on the outermost side of the hotel.

I apologize for the misunderstanding with your vehicle and our parking lot. I assure you this was not intentional. I will follow up on your comments as it is unacceptable for our guests to be treated with anything other than a welcoming, friendly and helpful staff member. I appreciate your comments so I can make the necessary corrections so your next stay with us is a positive one. Thank you, General Manager
