Disappointed!

Pros: Staff!!
Cons: Maintenance on the exterior near canal and updating
Location: Steps from 6th street!! Great location!! Capitol, river, Congress Ave. bat experience was awesome.. a little bit of a walk, but a nice walk.
WONDERFUL STAFF!!!! I can't stress that enough. Everyone was accommodating and super nice, unfortunately that can't make up for the condition of the hotel. Outside walkway to downtown area was in such poor repair that it was embarrassing. chipping paint, wood broken and fountains torn away and never repaired. To top that off there was an abundance of trash everywhere around the hotel and in the water/canal. I was also shocked at the amount of homeless people laying and sleeping within steps of the doors. There was constant construction going on in the hotel and sounded like it was directly above us. That and the person in the room next to us had there alarm going off for 30 minutes and sounded like it was in our room. Hard to relax!!!! The amount they charge for the valet parking can be put to another hotel that is better maintained. $32.00/night is $70.00 for the weekend!!!!! That's nuts!!

buena ubicacion y excelente staff, el precio de parking un poco caro pero buen precio en relacion a la calidad del hotel. Muy cerca fe bares y restaurantes

Perfect location, valet should be complimentary it was pretty expensive.

Great option for Austin downtown

Pros: The location was excellent
Cons: Be more clear about the parking fee... if I have not read the reviews, I might not have noticed
Location: 6th street is next to the hotel and it is the nightlife location in Austin, full of bars, comedy shows and food trucks.
The hotel has a great location, just next to the freeway and walking distance from 6th street and the bars and street life. It's also next to a very nice brewery and bakery. Rooms are comfortable, the hotel has a cozy modern look, although the door lock was a bit broken and the hallway in our floor had a hint of cigarette smell. But in general we used the hotel for an overnight stay at Austin and we enjoyed it as a great location to be close to the action in Austin downtown. The staff was friendly and attentive. And the price was reasonable compared to similar options in the area. Be careful with the parking fee though... for parking you can only valet, and they will charge you 32$ per night, which is a mandatory fee probably not clear enough in hotel information.

Misleading

The photo indicated a large size pool when in fact it is the size of a hot tub. Had to go to deep eddy public pool. Also very loud at night with sirens on 35.

I wasn't pleased.

We checked into our hotel and at no point did they mention there was constrction on the floor above us. For the first 2.5 hours of trying to relax from our drive we heard non-stop hammering. I understand renovations need to be done but it would be appreciated if a room change could have been offered. The staff also failed to mention the nightly parking cost. Yet again I don't mind but a heads up at either check in or when the valets take your car would be appreciated. Glad I didn't go to hard the night before and I was able to cover it. I travel on a budget and plan so things like suprise bills are an inconvience. The last complaint I have on our stay is that our bathtub had a leak and we had to pay our towels on the floor every time we needed to shower. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable once the construction stopped.

Close to downtown

Perfect for our trip that was centered on being in the downtown area. Although the area right by the hotel is a little sketchy (its a block off of I-35) we never felt unsafe. Nightlife is right around the corner and the hotel is bright and clean. The hotel staff are great.

Buyer Beware
