Close to Capitol

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Pros: Room Service and Rrestaurant very good, Concierge and Front Desk very friendly and helpful, Hotel beautiful and rooms updated and furnished well.
Cons: I think onlu Valet parking available
Location: SIxth Steet music clubs, Paramount theater, Texas State Capitol. Lots of restaraunts, Couple blocks from University of Texas Campus
Brought Daughter to UT orientation. Hotel very helpful with giving directions and info about campus, recommendations while I was away and calling concierge back for info, and wonderful location to 6th street and downtown restaurants and Texas State Capitol.

Good location but lacking.

Posted May 3, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Customer retention
We spent two nights at this hotel for a quick business/pleasure trip. The hotel did not provide hot tea along with their coffee set up in the lobby. Even upon asking for it, they would not accommodate. The second morning, the fresh coffee set out was green water. I think it might have been whatever they clean the urn with but it certainly wasn't coffee. We asked for an extended check out time for Monday morning and was told that wasn't possible because the hotel was filled to capacity the next day. The hotel was like a ghost town the next day. So much so that when we did ch ck out, there wasn't even a housekeeper on the floor cleaning rooms. Overall disappointed with the hotel with the exception of the valet staff, they were great, and the location.

No movie channels! I would say the TV situation is very old. We had a rainy afternoon and thought we might watch a movie, but there wasn't any way to get one, not even to pay for it. Seems a bit backward in this day. Especially considering the amount they charge for a room! Also, no in room coffee/tea. That is usually pretty common in hotel rooms these days.

Hello and thank you for the feedback. I wanted to share a couple of things that perhaps will come in handy on your next stay with us. With regard to the coffee/tea, we absolutely have that service in our guestrooms! I'm so sorry you were not made aware of it. It is located in the credenza where the television is located. We offer several different types of coffee and tea, and a Keurig machine! Also, I have to apologize for the interruption of our television service. The rain was quite heavy during your stay, and it interfered with our signal. We do indeed have movie channels! Again, thank you and hope to see you again soon.

Nice but Noisy

The hotel is nice but noisy. Construction across the street from 7am to 11pm. Also lots of weekend street noise.

Wonderful Hotel

Perfect location in downtown Austin. Staff was very courteous and attentive, especially the bell hops. Lovely sitting on terrace at night watching the downtown activity and looking at capital.
