Nice, good hotel. Above standard. Friendly service

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Location: Great location, walking distance to bars and clubs in 6th street and state capitol. We did walk to so co too, but it'd be better in bikes
The hotel is good, clean and the staff was all around very friendly. The hotel shares the space with some offices which makes its strange, but it was ok. It would have been nice a 24 hour Room service, but during weekday was until midnight.

Lovely place in Austin

Posted Oct 24, 2016
The room was lovely and clean. I didn't use any of the services onsite due to a short visit. The bed was comfortable and the view of the city was nice. The location was great for every where I met clients. Yes I would recommend to anyone and would stay here again.

Great hotel! Great location!

Posted Oct 19, 2016
Pros: Location Pool Friendly Staff
Cons: Room was too close to Club dinning on floor. A little noisy at times.
Location: Great BBQ at Cooper's Fun Bar and Live Music in The Rainey District Must go to Moonshine's
This was the perfect hotel for an adult trip to Austin! This hotel is in the heart of downtown. Within walking distance to great restaurants and other fun locations like The Rainy District! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful for directions and personal suggestions about places to eat! Rooftop pool was great and has a fantastic view.

Omni Downtown ready for a remodel

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Location: Good location for visiting the Capitol, 6th St., or for doing business Downtown
Well situated for Austin Downtown, but the Omni is looking very tired and ready for a remodel. The rooms are definitely in need of an upgrade to bring them up to par with the competition. There's a big choice of hotels in the vicinity at the same price point or less that are far better appointed. That said the Omni is comfortable, and the staff are pleasant. Overnight parking is expensive too!

Had to pay for wireless.

Posted Oct 3, 2016
Just don't like 4*+ hotels trying to nickel and dime their customers. Why charge $8 for wireless when you just charged 350 for a night. The movie rentals are about $20! the corridors were stuffy. Location was good

Pros: Liked the location, parking was great, friendly lobby workers.
Cons: Housekeepers
the hotel staff down in the lobby was great, it was the housekeepers that received my rating. Our room had NO soap, shampoo, conditioner and I called housekeeping, it took around 30 minutes and she looked at me like I was lying about not having these items. I did not have them clean everyday because I can do that but I ran out of coffee and I asked a housekeeper who was extremely loud in the early morning and she said call downstairs. I asked her if she had some on her cart and she said no. I looked down the hallway and saw another cart and I said what about that cart and she said "I don't know". We were at the pool and the same housekeeper that brought up the shampoo was so rude about everything we starting calling her the Natzi housekeeper.

Located walking distance from 6th and attractions.

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Cheaper rates for undesirable rooms, such as the one I stayed in. Not worth the $299 per night.
Location: On 6th street, walking distance to many attractions and bars, Bring great walking shoes.
I stayed Sunday-Monday, one night stay, while attending a Hair Show Convention. Check in was a breeze, I arrived at 2PM. There is a self park parking garage beneath the hotel for $26 a night, but it is worth it since you won't be needing your car for the rest of the stay. Atleast I didn't. The hotel is very clean and sleek. My only complaint was the view, we were located in room 401 and had a view of beams and other office buildings. Kinda a bummer, since I have stayed at this Omni before and had a great cityline view. It was a corner room however, the wrap around windows would have been a delight if the veiw was different. There is a mini bar for an additional charge. The room was big enough, however there were two unnessary dressers for clothing in the room. To me, if they were removed it would reallyopen up the room, especially since there was a built in closet available. Robes and a coffee maker are included. The bathroom was big, but the shower situations made it almost impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom, due to the fact it pointed out towards the shower curtain, odd setup. We didn't go downstairs to the restuarant or bar area. But they both looked nice. Room service was fast, I reccomend the nachos and cobb salad, both were delicious. However the texas burger was dry, the salmon salad dry and bland and the reuben tasted old. Overall it was a nice stay, I booked it due to the fact it was located downtown. Location, location, location.

Unhelpful Staff!

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: It is close to UT campus. However, there are other hotels much closer and/or similar distance. Stay at the others!!!
Cons: Honesty and helpfulness.
I accidentally booked my hotel for the wrong night (booked for the 11th, but needed hotel for the 10th). I noticed the error more than 24 hours before check in, and asked to change the hotel reservation night. They did this, and told me I would need to call Expedia to have Expedia confirm that it is okay to refund me for second night. Although Expedia did call, they still charged me for the second night (that I didn't mean to reserve). When I asked for clarification they just kept telling me that they would have to "wait until the accounting department was available" which is not on weekends and only certain times during the work day. Then, they told me this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't used a third party provider (Expedia) and tried to blame the double charge on Expedia. However, when I had Expedia on the phone while also talking to Omni staff it became apparent that Omni was just refusing to refund the money despite attempts from both myself and Expedia. I will not stay here again! The fact that I made a mistake in booking was my fault, but the fact that Omni refused to help in any way and tried to blame shift and be deceitful about it was not cool.

Annoyed that I paid so much for a hotel room and it didn't even include wifi. In order to get it for free, they make you sign up for some select guest program.
