I found Renaissance Austin to be just okay. I was expecting a luxury hotel but it was pretty run down. There were no robes offered, and the furniture and some walls etc were peeling or cracked. We got room service breakfast which just came delivered in a bag, not on a plate or tray. The restaurant downstairs is overpriced and the food is not great. The outdoor pool is nice but small. The indoor pool was okay but sort of dirty and looked like it needed an update. Also they charge you not only for parking ($20 per night), which I expected, they charge you for access to WiFi! ($15 a day). What are we, in the year 2001? That’s ridiculous.
I liked the grounds, they were green and pretty, with some nice sitting areas. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. So it was fine, just don’t expect luxury and know that they will nickel and dime you.
