Beautiful but a couple of drawbacks

Posted Feb 6, 2017
I stayed the weekend with my daughter. The hotel is beautiful and staff helpful and friendly. The room we first got was near elevator and was very loud. Not the doors or people but you could hear it moving up and down constantly. We asked and received a different room. The bed was not very comfortable. Pillows were so flat had to fold over. We both had sore backs the next two mornings. Time to update the mattress and pillows.

Historical Beauty

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: It is a beautiful historical building.
Cons: Staff friendliness.
Location: 6th Street downtown was not my cup of tea. Very dirty. Homeless people begging everywhere.
If you are in to historical beauty then this place is for you. If you want comfort and friendliness go elsewhere.

Incredible historic hotel.. minor plumbing mishap

Posted Feb 4, 2017
We enjoyed our stay at the Driskill, which was clean and comfortable. The downstairs dining and bar are beautiful, including live music most days. We did have a minor plumbing issue, but the staff had us in a new room in less than 10 minutes from the time we called. We would definitely stay here again.

Very fancy

Posted Feb 1, 2017
Pros: Very fancy, very premium feel.
Cons: Elevators make scary noises
Location: Everything is nearby as its in the center of downtown, there is the Capitol, UT, the river trail, etc.
Very nice stay, if anything rooms felt a little cramped but that's the trade off for a hotel in the middle of downtown. Everything was very clean.

Beautiful Old Hotel

Posted Jan 1, 2017
The room was very clean with very nice sheets on the bed, a white noise machine, and pleasing overall appearance. Above the bathtub was a rusted out access door to something. I wouldn't have thought to see rust in a 4-star hotel. The refrigerator and snack tray are weight sensitive (per the front desk lady). The fridge was over stocked to the point we didn't have any room to place our stuff in there. The 1886 Bakery and Café was really good and tasty. It does get crowded, so just get stuff to go and eat in the room. Overall, I would go back again.
