HOTEL WAS VERY NICE. STAFF VERY HELPFUL. OUR GPS HAD TROUBLE FINDING THE HOTEL. VERY FRUSTRATING. SUGGEST TRAVELERS DO NOT RELY ON GPS BUT CALL HOTEL FOR DIRECTIONS. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL.

Perfect location

Perfect location, next to the canal, the center of downtown. Folks at the front desk were very helpful. Reasonable price.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

The photo on the web site is a little deceiving, it makes the hotel appear a little grim, but in reality it is just the lighting. Make sure you add Gloria to the address if you are driving and using a GPS otherwise you will end up in an industrial estate. Although the hotel is located just off the Main Street into town it has double glazing and is very quite. It has three parking spaces in from of the hotel that guests can use for free, otherwise parking on the street is free at the weekends. The breakfast is very very good, more than enough for us. The staff at the hotel are very helpful, especially when it came to advising us about the electronic tolling system and getting a temporary card by going to the post office. We had been using the freeways and then we came onto the lesser roads were suddenly confronted with overhead cameras. Go to the main post office on the way to the station to buy a pass. And make sure to see the old station with all it's tiles. And of course a canal ride is a must, only €8 from any of the wharves. Lots of good shopping and there is an antiques/junk market in the square on Sunday's. Aveiro is a lovely town to visit and if you are driving and need to park your car, then Hotel Das Salinas is perfect.

Great location

Perfect location. Cute hotel, you get what you pay for. Nothing 5 star but the location and service was good. Apart from a very slow check in everything went smoothly and was enjoyable. You can't beat the location.

Great location, friendly staff and value for money

Pros: Location, staff
Location: Excellent for historical centre
The hotel is located very close to the historical centre, literally just across the canal. We had a studio which was well equipped with cooking facilities and a fridge. The room was quite spacious overlooking the canal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lift was a bit funny, small and made out of glass, more cute than helpful but it worked and served the purpose. There is a lovely veranda between the breakfast room and the reception lounge, it is set within the building walls so not overlooking anything but anyway a pleasant breakfast setting. There are quite a few nice eateries nearby not to mention the canal with the boats. Overall, we were happy with the hotel for our quick stop in Aveiro and have only good things to say!

Well run, right in the center of beautiful Aveiro

We thought very highly of this hotel. It isn't very fancy, but comfortable, excellent friendly staff, and the location is perfect- you can walk everywhere in Aveiro from here. Wi-fi is reliable and fast and there's a glass of port waiting when you check in. Good breakfast and overall excellent value.

Good choice

Pros: Position and colouful room decor. Great shower.
Location: About 1 km from the station - an easy walk. In the center of town.
This is a very nice small hotel in a great position in the center of Aviero. The staff are very pleasant and hepful. The room had been recently updated with good quality bedding and bathroom etc. The breakfast was a bit limited compared to some others at about the same price but was well worth having. There is a small lift which might be helpful for those with mobility problems.

Lovely stay in Aveiro!

Pros: Bathroom with a tub and great shower!
Location: Perfect - a bit of a walk with a suitcase from the train but completely possible.
This hotel is in a very nice location, right by the bus that takes you to the beach. We were somehow upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette which was very comfortable. The bathroom was great! It was new and had a full tub with a rain shower. For budget accommodations, this stood up to much more expensive places I've stayed. The breakfast was also great (fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, pastries, meat, cheese - coffee machine and juice). Overall, a very comfortable stay.
