Shares the square with the Popes Palace

Posted Aug 31, 2017
The location is amazing. The hotel has great charm. A few draw backs include a very dark room with limited clothing areas, no full mirror, staff often hard to find at outdoor bar and breakfast. We participated in the chefs private guest dinner with 12 other guests. A beautiful old kitchen downstairs and a beautifully set table. Participants from a cooking class earlier in the day helped prepare the food. It was very enjoyable but the food was not really inspired. The chef was working hard but we were feeling she was not enjoying herself. Would I recommend? Yes for the location and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces.

Charming hotel. Perfectly situated in Avignon.

Beautiful hotel! Kind, friendly and caring staff who go the extra mile to make your stay special. Room was VERY clean. Extra touches meant a lot...complimentary water, fruit and candies. Very convenient location in Avignon, directly behind the Palais de Papes.

there was no coffee makers inside the room, we had to ask the front desk for it. Also, it was a two people room but there was only one tooth brush inside of the room.

Dear Guests, We thank you for having taken the time to write your feedback after your stay with us. We have indeed made the choice of not providing coffee maker in the room as we prefer bring coffee directly from the bar with the service which goes with it. Also, the special bath set that we provide in the room has only one tooth brush but we always provide more items on request. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future. Yours sincerely, Francis Lacoste Resident Manager

Intimate and Lovely

Posted Mar 31, 2017
Cons: The restaurant, highly-rated, is overwrought. The food, while good, does not quite rise to the level of the elaborate service, presentation and price
Location: One can fall out of the hotel into the papal palace and the scenic park at the top of the rock. The city is a good base for seeing Nimes and Arles.
The hotel is a beautifully renovated and maintained small palace, literally in the shadow of the papal palace. We had a particularly lovely room (26) overlooking a courtyard. The rooms are comfortable, pretty (lots of florals) and up to date. The public rooms, including an enclosed court and a library-style space, are very nice for tea or a drink. The staff is both competent and very nice. All in all, a very well-managed property in a charming city.

Amazing Experience!

Posted Feb 5, 2017
Pros: Everything - staff, decor, location, our room. Whenever we return to Avignon, and we will, we will stay here; no other hotel could possible compare.
Cons: The elevator was out the day we were there, but the staff was very helpful and very apologetic.
Location: Directly across the street from the Palais des Papes and very close to the Pont D'Avignon. Not too far from the Marche les Halles and flea market.
We were only at the hotel for one night, but what an amazing experience! The hotel itself was gorgeous: the lobby, the lounge and restaurant, and the garden were all beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was immense! The little things made all the difference; being able to get the New York Times in the morning was a nice surprise, as were the fruit and marshmallows waiting for us in the room when we checked in. The hotel is close to a small square with quaint bakery. We bought a bunch of pastries and had them with the hotel's delicious coffee for a perfect breakfast. We recommend this hotel without hesitation. It is on the pricier side, but worth every Euro!

Delightful

A very pretty hotel with a delightful restaurant. However interiors are a little worn and food a little dated.

Best in Avignon

Posted Jun 18, 2016 on Hotels
Best hotel to stay in Avignon. Staying there was an experience in itself. The rooms were decorated beautifully and richly in traditional fashion. It feels like you're a private guest at a mansion. Fantastic location right behind the pope's palace.
