Quiet for Christmas

Comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was well done. We were visiting family in Avon over Christmas and this hotel was convenient at a decent price.

Dirty rooms = Uncomfortable stay

Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: Clean the rooms thoroughly.
We chose to stay at Fairfield Inn apart from the other hotels in Avon because it was a Marriott. Marriott's always provide a great stay, however for a Marriott this hotel did not live up to our standards when it came to the cleanliness of the rooms. The bathroom was dirty as the toilet had human waste on the side from the prior occupant, completely disgusting. We didn't even feel comfortable showering. In the ice bucket we found a used dirty plastic fork. Is housekeeping not thorough when cleaning rooms? Is no one inspecting rooms? Based on the condition of the room I wondered are these clean sheets? Did they change the sheets? The pillows were also not the same. In my room I had tiny square pillows while my sister had normal size comfortable pillows. To say the least I did not rest easily. Not a Marriott.

Dear Nancy, we're so sorry that you had this experience at our hotel. As a guest, if I experienced this, I would be extremely frustrated. The parties responsible for your experience have been removed from the staff to ensure that it doesn't happen again. We've also purchased brand new pillows that we are placing in all of our hotel rooms right away to ensure that the beds are as comfortable as possible. We hope that we have another opportunity to present ourselves at our best!

Room smelt like body odor

We booked this hotel to "splurge" for our kids with the indoor pool (which wasn't in service when we checked in). When we walked into the room it smelled like bad body odor. Tiffany at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. She offered to move us to a different room. We checked 2 others and they smelt the same. Not sure if the smell is coming from the old carpet or hotel cleaning staff or what. We were exhausted and opted to stay despite the smell. Thankfully we travel with an air purifier that made the stay tolerable. The overall appearance of the room was fine. Seemed clean. Tiffany said they were getting ready for remodeling. We were disappointed in not having a fridge in the room. We have stayed in many hotels that were less expensive but much nicer.

Dear Brian, I'm so sorry you had that experience at our hotel.... I would have been disappointed too! That is correct that we are renovating starting January 1st to be completed by March 31st. Part of this renovation is installing a fridge and microwave in every room. I regret that you experienced the odor issue that you did. I just took over the property a few weeks ago and made quite a few changes to repair what you experienced. We hope we have another opportunity to present ourselves at our best.

Nice and quiet

this hotel is kind of in a strange location, but it is convenient to shopping and dining. It is quiet, kind of nice being off the busy street and away from the interstate. I liked the fact that the pool was small and warm, and it had a nice hot tub that functioned well. I will definitely stay again, the only thing is that if you get 2 queens, there is no microwave or fridge, you have to get a suite, which was a little pricy.

MANY THINGS DID NOT GO WELL

Pros: I liked the Location and the confort of the beds.
Cons: The manager should have fixed the problems.
The room I was in was a wheel chair room. No advanced warning. Problems with the low showerhead. My Mom and Dad had no TV, and they couldn't fix it, plus the room was a sauna initially and it took a while to cool down. At breakfast the next morning, there was not enough food, and no coffee due to lack of staff to manage the problems

I want you to know that we have made a lot of changes, including changes to the HVAC systems, the TVs, the breakfast, and massive changes to our service team. I just took over, and I hope we can have another opportunity for a 5 star experience.

Place to stay in Avon.

We stay here while visiting family every year. It's new and very clean. Quiet area. We've never had a bad stay. I highly recommend it.
