Nice quiet location but need a car to get anywhere

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Pros: Not much beside the architecture.
Cons: Paint, signage, bathmats, proper lamps, clean the stairwell. Minibus for access to town.
Location: Nearby resorts have good restaurants. Nice walking area. Theatre in Ayr.
This hotel is "tired". The interior is badly in need of a coat of paint. The stairwell, by which all rooms are reached, is cold, dirty with cobwebs on window and months old dust, chipped paint and frayed carpet. My room functional but no bathmat and tiny bedside lamp; the flex so short that I had to shift furniture (leg then fell off the table!!). Staff kind and helpful.

Looks nice on the outside, but...

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: Lovely countryside, price is ok
Cons: Refurbish the rooms, buffet dinner could be better (I would not mind to pay few pound extra)
Location: Location is nice.
Squeaky floorboards in the hall, wet patch and paint peeling off on the ceiling in the room. Need a new curtain rail(curtain is not sliding). TV way too small and no remote control. Bed is uncomfortable, too much gap under the door.

Organisation at Hotel

Posted Aug 5, 2016
Pros: Original part of building was nice but club rooms was a bit of a maize with only one lift if you were able to find it
Cons: Decor could be greatly improved
On some morning Bus parties and Hotel guest were all arriving at the one Dining room at 7am resulting in a total fiasco with not enough food or tables with people eating breakfast on the stairs and in the lounges. The bus party were taking excessive amount of food with no regard to anyone else. On other mornings bus parties were fed in downstairs Dining room which left the normal dining room free for guest which was a pleasant experience with loads of seating and plentiful food for all. For the number of guest staying in the hotel one small bar and not a lot of seating needs to be looked at

San to Brit Open

Posted Jul 25, 2016 on Hotels
Last possible hotel avail for Brit Open, should have taken train from Glasgow. Thought we saw Winston Churchill propped up in a lounge chair...we certainly smelled him. Worst internet experience since AOL and dial up modems. Bad attitude at desk, tired and unhappy workers. Much repair needed and nobody seems to care. Only stay here as a last resort.

A EVITER - C'est du vol !

Posted Jul 24, 2016
Pros: le check out
Cons: tout
Location: Cote ouest de l'Ecosse. Venue pour voir The Open à Troon.
Pas de wifi. Petit déjeuners payés pour trois jours mais servi une fois. Horrible. Fenêtre cassée, impossible à fermer seule. Salle de bain et robinetterie en décomposition. Service de nettoyage un jour sur trois. Introuvable sur GPS. Manager coulé.

Old Manor House in need of renovation

Posted Jul 23, 2016
Pros: Location to the open
Cons: Everything would need loads spending
Lovely setting plenty of history grand driveway looking forward to getting inside . On entering disappointing greeting and poor service from beginning no information in room reception lacked to give any information. Long corridors in need of repair and lick of paint was waiting for lights out shout at 10 0clock. Faulty Towers looked good in comparison

In need of a revamp

Posted Jul 22, 2016
Only stayed one night, expensive for what it is. I guess the price was high because of the Golf Open at Troon.

Pros: Enjoyed countryside,
Cons: Price should be more reasonable.
Location: Only enjoy playing golf around there.
During The Open Adamton was the only Hotel I could buk. However that hotel was the worst among my long experience traveling Europe and U.S to pay such a expensive price. I should have reserve the hotel 1yr prior to stay during The Open. In case Expedia sell the space of this Hotel you should explain the terribleness.

The hotel is not fit for purpose and would never recommend this to anyone.
