A relaxing break.

Posted Aug 25, 2016
Pros: The staff, the view, the pool.
Cons: It's looking a little tired in terms of decor but I put cleanliness and comfort (both excellent) above this.
Location: I could hardly be closer to the sea! It's a short walk to a golf course and there are many walks nearby or accessible after a short drive.
This was very good value. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Blackwaterfoot is quiet and but this is ideal for a walking/golfing/relaxing break. The pool was a real bonus for relaxing at the end of the day. I ate in the dining room most nights and loved every mouthful.

Brilliant peaceful location with stunning views

Stunning location even in cloudy weather. Excellent and highly attentive staff. We will definitely come back to this lovely hotel on this stunning island which indeed lives up to its claim of being Scotland in miniature!

Pleasant hotel, staff friendly.

Posted Jul 28, 2016
Pros: Lovely sea view in both rooms we had and staff were excellent. The best!
Cons: Ummmmm atmosphere in dinning area, but it was a busy time with bus tourists.
Location: Walks and easy access to all on Isle of Arran
Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and we had a lovely sea room. We arrived a day earlier than expected but reception staff (Jan) was extremely helpful in finding us another room in the hotel. Dining room very noisy & busy, we preferred to eat elsewhere.

Best Western Kinloch, 22nd - 24th July, 2016

Posted Jul 25, 2016
Pros: The location, it was quieter round the west side of the island, the food and the sea view.
Cons: It could do with a bit of upgrading.
Location: As above the location was quiet, there is a 12 hole golf course nearby and walking.
Despite arriving later than predicted we were given a sea view room and asked if we had eaten. The hotel on a whole is a little tired but the room was clean, the food was great with a very wide menu and the staff did everything they could to make sure all your needs were catered for. All in all we had a fantastic weekend here and thanks to all that helped make it.

A disappointing experience

Posted Jul 8, 2016
Pros: Cheerful and helpful staff and reasonable food.
Cons: Where do you start, it needs a lot of flair and TLC
The hotel is in a poor location to enjoy visiting the island and appears to suffer from under investment in premises and furnishings, so affecting the comfort of one's stay eg the lounge was worse than a Vet's waiting room ! Our room (55) had a pleasant outlook but was seriously affected, if the windows were opened, by sewage smells

Dear Mr Sharpe, thank you for your comments and taking the time to review your stay with us. I'm sorry that your time with us did not meet your expectations and take on board your feedback to improve our product. The sewage smell you commented on is in truth seaweed, which though unpleasant is naturally occurring at some points in the year when the tides bring it onto the beach and it remains until it is taken back out to sea. I was sorry to read that Blackwaterfoot did not allow the best location to view the Island, the area is considered one of the most beautiful on Arran due to its more remote positioning outwith the main harbour villages, but this quieter feel is not to everyone's enjoyment. Thank you again for taking the time to feedback your comments, they are appreciated and invaluable in ensuring the best possible customer experience.

Beautiful views

Posted Jul 1, 2016
Pros: Views and the meals
Cons: Sauna didn't work
Location: Beautiful if you don't want to go anywhere!
The hotel is run down and a bit tired. Unless you have a car you are trapped on the west side waiting for a bus.

Not quite what we expected

Not happy with the failure of staff to mention that it was cheaper to book direct or that a ferry subsidy was available when booking direct

El hotel al borde del mar

Posted May 12, 2016

Thank you for your comments. You will be pleased to hear that in the coming 18-24 months the refurbishment of our ground floor will incorporate plans for a lounge area overlooking the sea towards Kintyre. Hope you will come back to visit!
