"Great except for delay in check-in"
Great hotel, but we arrived at 4:30, party of 9, with a check-in time of 3:00pm. and only 1 room was ready, and if we took that room it would be away from the other rooms. We had no choice but to take that room so we had a place to go with all our luggage while we waited for the additional rooms to be available. WE were all exhausted after a day of travel and finally able to get to check-in to the other rooms by 5:15, which were on another floor. The rest of our stay was wonderful. Staff is very helpful, especially the Concierge. The doormen are very friendly and prompt with service and overall a very nice stay. The location is perfect for walking to historical sights, Fenway Park, dining, and shopping.

"The staff make this hotel"
This hotel is in a great location in Back Bay at the end of Newbury Street. The staff couldn't do enough for us, very helpful on check-in, offering tips and some great locations to visit around the city. The door staff were always very friendly and welcoming each time we got back to the hotel. The only issue we found was that our curtains didn't close properly in the room, this was, however, rectified as soon as we made the front desk aware. The rooms are basic but well appointed and the cleaning staff did a great job each day.

"Grand Ol' Lady"
Only stayed at the Taj for one night, and I enjoyed the stay. The rooms were large and clean but the hotel is definitely past it's prime. It has a faded grandeur and is in desparate need of an upgrade. I loved the wide corridors and understated elegance, the four poster was the most comfortable bed I have slept in, and the cleaning staff were lovely. Easy access to high end shopping, walking distance to everything.

"Great Location for Red Sox Fans"
We stay at the Sheraton every time we had up to Boston for a Red Sox Game. The Sheraton is a great location for walking to the game. It adjacent to the Prudential Center and Copley Square and we typically get to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall as well. There is some construction going on across the street. My husband likes to be high up but didn't want to have the view obstructed. Claudia was able to put us in the North Tower, 22nd Floor overlooking the river. No obstructed view there. Its a little pricey for a one-night stay but we've been doing it for years and its worth the convenience for the walk as well as getting on and off the highway.
