Well-located and comfortable

Pros: Location and amenities
Cons: Quieter aircon would be welcome
Location: Located adjacent to Newbury St shops, eateries etc and close to Boston Common. A half-hour walk from harbourside and the tea party clipper.
Our room was large and comfortable, and staff were welcoming and helpful. Convenient location very close to Boston Common. We're not accustomed to needing aircon overnight, and found it noisy to a degree that roused us from sleep from time to time. But we couldn't open windows as our room overlooked roof plant that was equally noisy. Our stay was quite expensive and the bar was very expensive - but so is everything in Boston.

Excellent location

Great hotel, in big need of a refitting, yet with an air of a grand-dame hotel from an old era, great size rooms, pleasant staff, beautiful lobby if not for the carpets which are crying for a full cleaning, and the best location in town!! I understand the prices will spike up as soon as the hotel will get refitted and updated so whoever wants to enjoy a reasonable priced beautiful hotel in an excellent location should book fast. The ladies who are servicing the rooms remind one of the old cheerful, polite maids we see in movies, so that adds up to the flair of this great old hotel and hopefully they will stay after the refitting. We would definitely book again!

This is my second time at the Taj Boston. I love absolutely everything about. The location, the staff, rooms. There will definitely be a third time

Great hotel

Location: Boston common Walk to most highlights within 30 minutes
A great Hotel in a great location next to Boston common. Room was good with a great king bed and we appreciated the turn down service every night. Checking in and out was easy but we were presented with some extra nightly room tarrif, not a resort tariff, for our three nights when we checked out. The front counter staff were at a loss to explain exactly what it was for and offered to drop the fee. We did try and order room service one evening and a wake up call but no answer on both occasions. However the hotel was great and even though if I had to be slightly critical ,it's not quite up to other TAJs we stayed at. We thought housekeeping was well above expectations. Would stay here again.

First Class service lives at the Taj!

Pros: Service, ambiance, location, staff.
Location: Wonderful location on the Boston Public Garden in Back Bay. A short walk to everything you might need.
From the moment we arrived at the Taj entrance we felt like welcome guests. Everyone we encountered cheerfully met our every need and offered us service we didn't even know we needed....The hotel has a quiet elegance. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins are provided in the lobby in the morning. Perfect to have a hot cup for a stroll in the park to start your. day. Couldn't have been a more pleasant stay. We will be back.

Anyone would be happy with the staff's level of professionalism, the architecture, small amenities such as handing towels and water to people coming in from a job...

Charming Location

We very much enjoyed staying here. Great location and enjoyed being across the street from the Public Gardens.. Our room was comfortable . we would definitely come back . The hotel has lots of charm.

If don't get others then look for it

Check in lady didn't behave right. In front of me two person was standing and she behaved well with them. She just gave me key and didn't bother about my questions. This may be due to skin color. Need to have good people in the check in counter.
