Lovely traditional hotel in good location.

We stayed here for the week commencing 14.5.16. It is a large hotel but the staff are very approachable, friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, although there are only tea and coffee making facilities in the business rooms. We had a balcony looking over the mountains, and although it was quite a walk to reception and the dining room, the views were well worth it.
The hotel is in an excellent, town centre location but the main entrance (which sat nav takes you to using the hotel postcode) is in a pedestrianised area, which can cause some initial difficulty. There is a rear entrance to the car park (off Mozartstrasse) which avoids the pedestrian area. The car park costs 7 euros per night.
Our party included my elderly father, and if you are visiting the hotel with anyone who has limited mobility, be sure to request a room with a shower cubicle rather than a bath for safety.
The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of food types including everything you would expect in a European hotel. However, we found the evening meals in the restaurant very over-priced at £29 for three courses bearing in mind the choice and quality of food on offer. The Axel Stubert bar was closed at the time of our visit, probably due to the fact it was very early in the season, and presumably that offers a wider, more reasonably priced range of meals. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants in Bad Reichenhall, within walking distance of the hotel.

thank you very much for having chosen the Wyndham Grand Bad Reichenhall Axelmannstein in occasion of your stay in Bad Reichenhall. We are pleased that you took the time to write about your experience. It is a pleasure to share your warm and motivating comment about our staff with the team. That enjoyed your large room and it´s view is great! We are very sorry we were not able to meet your expectations regarding the dinner in our restaurant. You are right, our "Stüberl" is opening this week after renovation and from now on, a la carte dinner will take place there and we are able to offer a larger variety of food. Maybe you will have the possibility to try it in future. All the best regards, Daniela Leopold, Executive Assistant Manager
