Nice hotel near the border of Portugal

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: Contemporain style, new and very clean. No rug on the floor. The buffet breakfest was excellent
Cons: Menu of the dinner, not enough choice
Location: Nothing to do near by
We stayed one might and really appreciate our stay.

Nice quiet hotel outside main town

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Pros: Good quiet comfortable rooms at a good price with easy access while driving.
Cons: The bar/restaurant was only average. (Nothing really bad but nothing to make you go back after the first time.)
Location: Badajoz is a great old historical town and the Alcazaba and museum are well worth a visit.
Hotel Las Bovedas is situated on the main Hwy (A5) so it was easy to reach by car. However the building is far enough from the road so road noise is not a problem. (NB: You have to put your door card in the slot to activate all electrical items. The bar and restaurant were just OK (There is also a cafeteria which is separate but I did not try it.) The rooms were large and comfortable and well fitted out - including a small fridge. Amenities include free parking (some under cover) and good free wifi. It is only 5-10 min drive to the center of Badajoz and there was a large modern shopping mall (elfaro) only 5 minutes drive away. The only issue I had was when the room air conditioning failed one evening but hotel staff arranged for a repair man who fixed the problem in an hour. Overall I was very satisfied.

I was driving from Portugal to Switzerland and stayed a night here to have a break. Very cheap with comfortable beds and rooms. I guess the hotel is mostly suitable for people who is driving past, but if you plan to visit Badajoz and are looking for a cheap place to stay, it`s great!

Pros: Convenient, not noisy.
Cons: The first stay the check in was very surly and when we asked for a beer he said we had to wait until 20.30 when the restaurant opened.
Location: Close to road with cafe next door
Stayed twice, once on the way to the Algarve and once on the way back because it is close to the main road.

October 2015 one night stay

Very nice hotel, quite surprised at the price/quality ratio with excellent quality at a keen price. This hotel is well located for those who do not want a town centre location.
