Nice place in cute town

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pretty good overall. A/C in our room for 5 didn't cool well enough. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant or walk the trails but would go there again.

Great location, beautiful view, excellent food...

Posted Jul 23, 2017
Pros: Location, view
Cons: bathrooms need updating, and decor - especially carpeting in the room.
Location: Alexander Graham Bell museum - interesting, but also tired. Convenient location for exploring the Cabot Trail.
...rooms adequate in terms of comfort. The carpet in our room seemed damp once the shoes were off. The bathrooms are clean but tired. It was a comfortable stay, and we did report the damp carpet to the front desk, suggesting a dehumidifier might help.

Hotel with great view

Posted Jul 22, 2017
Pros: The view of the harbor. The location at the southern end of the Cabot Trail. Easy to get back to mainland for travel.
Location: Good location for seeing the Cabot Trail. We drove to Ingonish and did a whale watching tour with Keltic Zodiac Tour and then continued on.
Nice lodge style hotel. Right on the harbor. Beautiful view from dining area. Very relaxing.

Perfect location for exploring Cape Breton

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Pros: Location is great for touring and the towns amenities. Nice to have a restaurant on site for breakfast, which was plentiful and fresh.
Cons: Very noisy groundskeepers the day we were there, constant noise from tractor mowers, leaf blowers, etc. which al, started early in the morning.
Location: AG Bell museum, sailing tours of the lake, great cafes and restaurants in town, you can do the Cabot Trail in a day from here.
Choose a room with a lake view, it's astounding, and the room balcony on the upper floor helps to enjoy it. It's possible to walk into Baddeck itself from the Lodge. The grounds are well maintained and extensive. The outdoor swimming pool was great for the kids.

Stayed while on Cabot Trail

Posted Jun 27, 2017
Location off the lake was absolutely gorgeous. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and having the mini fridge was nice. Bathroom was a bit dated. All rooms had an outside porch to sit, which was especially nice. Did not go to the restaurant for dinner, but my breakfast sandwich was delicious. There was also a rather extensive buffet which was reasonably priced at $16. My biggest issue was that dinner was only served until 8 pm, and no lunch hours (although breakfast available until 11). It seemed to be the norm in Baddeck as most everything was closed by 8-9 pm, which was slightly disappointing as the sun did not set until 9 pm.

Thank you for your comments about your visit to our property. When we opened for the season, we did have limited hours for dinner service before changing it to 9:00 pm for the remainder of the summer. I want to thank you for writing about your experience as it will help us to plan better for the next season. Thank you and we hope you will visit with us again if you are ever back in the Baddeck area.

Great Location and View

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Location: We used hotel more as a base location for travelling the Cabot Trail and going to Louisbourg.
Hotel is older but the rooms and large and clean. Each room has a deck view of lake. Location is a 5 minute drive to town which is not that large. Thought the hotel restaurant was very good on both selection and quality.
