I did not want to leave. If i could, i'd live there. What a beautiful place. You sit out at the pool and look over the valley and it doesn't even seem real. Its like a portrait and it is real! and right in front of you! The service here was amazing. The food was amazing. The amenities were amazing. I will return hands down. Purely magnificent!

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful restaurants. What we didn't like is they allow children. The hotel property is small so they always seem to be right where you are even on the winery tour. We didn't like that every meal, even the high end restaurant included toddlers running around and babies crying.

Just beautiful.
Magical. Beauty of the landscape surpassed only by the kindness of the staff. Do yourself a favor and book a tasting menu dinner at its Michelin-starred restaurant. Generous pours at wine tasting and, if you’re not careful, you’ll end up filling out an export sheet for a couple of cases of wine.

Banfi is terrific.
Great location in Tuscany, beautiful and immaculate grounds and rooms, very good service and great food. More dramatic and cinematic than the nice website. We also did the cooking class at the farmhouse and Samuele, the chef, made the day and experience unforgettable, truly outstanding. Dinner service was also exceptional, it is clear they try to nail every detail for the guests. We did not wander into the nearby small towns, so can’t comment but they’re close including Montalcino. Walking, running or biking the many many acres of Tuscan countryside and vineyards of Banfi and the pool, terraces and other common areas kept us happy. We also stayed at 5 star hotel in Rome and Villa In Positano, along with many top restaurants in both locations, and as far as quality of rooms and furnishings, amenities, common areas, grounds, service and food, Banfi was better as an overall package.

Great inn!
Loved the location of Banfi—lots of close day trips or enjoy the property if you like. We had dinner at the hotels restaurant first night (and although our baby monitor didn’t reach restaurant, receptionist thoughtfully offered to keep an ear out for us) and it was outstanding. Montalcino is fab and Pienza is a must. We enjoyed the tour of the facilities and tasting at the Enoteca as well. It’s hard to justify the price, but it was a great stay. Side note: we traveled with our 6 month old baby and hotel provided a pack and play with cute sheets, etc. and soaps for her to use. Super baby friendly. We also stopped at Casanova de Neri for a tasting and loved it—very close, very delicious, very approachable.

We arrived at the gate and immediately were met in the parking area by someone in a cart who assisted us with our luggage and gave us a ride to reception. Upon check-in we were given a tour of the grounds so we knew where breakfast, the restaurant, electric bikes and our room all were. It was beautiful! We went to our room and it was quite large and plush with a very comfortable bed. We had dinner reservations and were able to spend some time looking around before we needed to start getting ready. The next morning my wife became quite I'll with a tummy bug. The staff were so kind, allowing us to move around our activities and check out later so she could get some rest. Our stay at this location was a last minute addition to our vacation. We initially hoped to stay 2 days but due to other set reservations in Florence only had a day here. Beautiful grounds, spacious and comfortable accommodations and top notch service. I strongly suggest to anyone who is planning a visit that you allow at least 2+ days so that you can fully immerse yourself in the experience, it is definitely worth it!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, the staff, and our stay. Food was fantastic. Hotel was clean. Gorgeous views and sunset. We went on an outstanding Vineyard tour and tasting. Request Vincenzo! He was the best. We were so sad to leave and have booked already for next year!

First, but not the last time...
Castello Banfi - Il Borgo is either a great place to anchor your restoration or to invigorate your exploration. There's plenty to do on property: a wine tour through the high-tech wine production facility; wine tasting overlooking the Tuscan landscape (you have a substantial selection to choose from); lounging by the pool overlooking the many acres of grape vines, olive and plum trees, and the hills beyond; a visit to their glass museum; an intimate cooking class with one of the top Chefs in Italy (from 10am-2pm, you prep, learn, eat and drink and eat and drink...); and did I say eat?...you start your day with a wonderful breakfast overlooking the estate and the morning fog rising from the hills; 2 lunch options either poolside or in their restaurant; dinner is the highlight. Remember, this is Tuscany, so bring your appetite! And don't forget to stop in the library after dinner for late night drinks and finger foods by the fire. Here to explore? Then Castello Banfi is a great launching pad. We drove to Montepulciano for lunch, then to Pienza for wine/cheese before making our way to Banfi. The next day was lunch & dinner in Montalcino. Each town offers plenty of history, scenery, food, shopping (wine, leather and shoes aplenty), and site seeing. We did a quick trip to Chianti as well. Our final day was spent in Florence. We cheated ourselves in trying to see all we could in a day. Florence is a city you could spend a week in. Sad to leave, but we'll be back!

We were upgraded to a suite across the rose garden. Shame they didn't really explain the additional facilities such as being able to take the mountain bikes or lunch options. We ordered for wine to be sent back to London and this was suvh a great treat.

One of the best hotels in all Europe!
From arrival to departure this hotel was an absolute dream! The service and friendliness of the staff was top notch. The view in every direction is breathtaking! The size of the room was very spacious and the cleanliness of the room was very pristine. I would highly recommend this hotel! It was one of the best hotel experiences that I have ever had!

The Castello Banfi il Borgo is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in Europe. It sits on 7,000 acres with views of nothing but vinyards and majestic scenery. The hotel itself is small - 14 rooms - and thus perfect for relaxing. And the hotel staff are very attentive yet not intrusive. I felt very welcomed and enjoyed the chance to unwind. I suggest having a rental car as the property is rather remote and about 20 minutes to Montalcino.

Great Tuscany Experience
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. We arrived after dark, and to see the hotel in lights atop a hill was awesome. Everything about it was first class. We thought we could use it as a base to discover Tuscany, but it is a bit remote and quite a drive to the sights. It is worth a stay, but probably just a night or two.

It is really a wonderful hotel to stay with it's location, architecture, decoration and service. Everything was beyond our expectations. Especially the food we had and of course the wines were excellent. Everybody in this small boutique hotel were so nice and helpful apart from the recepionist Andrea. He may be a nice person but his agressive attitude could be easily understood even from a phone call. I had to call the reception desk to ask how to get connected to the internet and even with such a simple question he would be very annoying. The second thing is, I made my booking through expedia and I thought that I paid the full amount during my reservation. Also my itinerary says that I've paid the full price. But when I was checking out he told me that they wouldn't get the full amount during booking so I had to pay the full amount again. So I did but I was confused.I hope they didn't charge me twice. On the other hand my daugters had left our camera in their room, they found it while they were cleaning it and inform us about our missing camera. I would like to thank them once more for this kind and thoughtful act. Overall Castello Banfi is a must stay place if you are visiting Tuscany.
