"I’m so impressed at this little hotel. Growing up in Bakersfield and coming back after 5 years, I’ve watched the Hill House go through many changes, good and bad. They have it right now. We will definitely stay there again."

"On our way north from our winter home in the south with a lot of "stuff" in our truck bed. Looked for a safe spot to stay. Found this one at a reasonable price. The hotel has secure gated parking where we could park right outside our room to keep an eye on our stuff. They also have security overnight. This is not in a bad part of town, they just want their guests to feel secure. The desk clerk was very accommodating to our needs and helped tremendously, we got a great room at a great price, my ratings were based on our stay, they are in the middle of a remodel so some amenities were not available, but we felt like our price reflected that. The restaurant associated with the hotel was almost empty for dinner but we had one of the best meals ever while traveling, the service there was superb and we felt welcomed. I would stop here to eat even if I wasn't staying at the hotel! Great complimentary restaurant breakfast as well. The hotel was easy to get to and was very peaceful"

"Nice place, very comfy bed and pillow, far enough away from the freeway so no noise. Onsite restaurant and bar did not eat there but looked good. Oh, and with a full bar too! Will be back in future! "
