Hotel Conclusions.Posted Sep 5, 2015
Pros: Newspapers were available, at least local ones. The kitchenette was equipped with dishes and cooking hardware.
Cons: see above.
Location: Businesses were nearby.
The setting of the hotel is central California desert. Everything was adequate in the mechanics and personnel departments. Some things, however, could be improved. First the parking lot was large, but needed more shade for the parked cars. Next there were too many televisions in the lobby to allow one to sit and read. The exercise room was small and not centrally located. Maid service was quick and fast.

The hotel itself was very good, and we would chose to stay there again. We booked it through Expedia, and they assigned us a smoking room without even asking our preference. The hotel staff says this is a common occurrence with Expedia, and changed our reservation to non smoking without any hassle or rate increase. We stayed 4 nights, and housekeeping skipped our room one of the days. We were gone 6 hours and requested maid service upon our return. Unfortunately housekeeping was gone for the day, and the front desk could only send up towels.

Nice hotel in a great Bakersfield locationPosted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, great complimentary hot breakfast, elegant lobby, quiet, safe, clean.
Cons: The mattress left a lot to be desired. It was adequate for sleeping, but not very comfortable. The bedding was very high quality, though.
Location: There is a shopping center with a movie theater, quite a few restaurants, grocery and drug stores, and a lot of miscellaneous shops like Starbucks.
I grew up in Bakersfield, so I know which locations are nicer, and this particular hotel is in a very nice, quiet, safe location in the SW part of town, near shopping and restaurants. The room we chose, the King Suite, was clean and quiet, though the bed could definitely use some improvement in the area of comfort. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes, and the bath with towels.

"The Hotel" to stay in when in BakersfieldPosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and is our "go to" hotel whenever we visit in Bakersfield. It is within walking distance to a mall and movie theatre so there is plenty of eating options. It is one of the best well-kept hotels we've stayed in and the breakfasts are great, with plenty of options.

Although we stayed for one night while visiting the near by university, we found our stay enjoyable. The hotel and rooms were very clean and the staff was very nice and friendly.
