A disappointing stay at a previously good hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2016
Location: Do not dive through the resort. We had an unsafe experience with the dive instructor who rushed us and was more interested in photography than us.
My husband and I stayed at Bali Tropic last year and enjoyed a warm environment. The rooms were a little tired but there were nice little touches like glass bottles of water and the breakfast was really good. This time we were disappointed to find that the atmosphere of the resort was lacking. We booked the wrong room at the beginning (our fault) but even so, one of the doors was broken, the duvet was torn at the top, the coffee table was in bad shape and even though we had chosen the cheapest room I wouldn't have paid even half the price for it. We paid to upgrade to a bungalow but even though it was a lighter room it was still very tired. I asked to see the top tier of rooms and was rudely told it was too expensive. The breakfast was very average, the room was average, the white towels were grey, the bath was stained with something pink and everything seemed as though the resort was cutting costs. All in all we were very underwhelmed and ended up moving to the Holiday Inn for the final 2 nights where we were extremely happy. Bali Tropic seemed to have downgraded the facilities but kept the prices the same .

Beautiful resort

Posted May 31, 2016
The resort is Balinese 100% and beautifly done, full of flowers and tropical plants. We liked that it is big enough to have sense of resort and small enough to feel cosy and intimate. Hotel staff are very nice and food is good. We are definitely going back.

Nice traditional resort

Enjoyed our stay, traditional rooms, extremely clean, attentive service. The breakfast include a variety to suit all, evening buffet was so so. They need to serve a variety of international beer not just Bintang over all value for money.

True Bali Experience BUT !

Beautiful Balinese architecture and gardens. Our room was great with a huge 4 post bed. The only negatives were the food which was dissapointing overall and I was bitten by a centipede in my bed one night, also spa prices too high.

lovely clean hotel, beautiful gardens.

Posted Apr 17, 2016
Pros: The Staff, & gardens
Cons: If you are a vegetarian as I am there was only three vegetarian meals available between all three restaurants......
Location: The Hotel backed onto a small beach which was nice, but the front entrance was on a very busy street with only one super market and chemist opposite
I did find this Hotel a little isolated, no shops at all close by...Ok if you like to spend most of your time around pool or on the beach.
