I had stayed here when I first arrived and loved it, but when I returned my room was not cleaned at all, nor was my friends. Her bed had garbage in the bed and dirt all over the floor. My room was also dirty with spit on the mirrors and the bathroom had not been wiped at all, by the toilet it smelled so strongly of urine. I asked it to be cleaned once and then had to ask again as the bathroom had still not been cleaned at all. Was disappointing as the pool outside our room was also very dirty. The spa was great, the ladies were very accommodating.

Awesome place with super helpful staff. Nice that it was close to the ridge walk. We also liked that it was quiet outside of the main drag of Ubud but also a short walk away.

Lovely resort, great location, great staff
My family of 3, including a 1-y/o baby had a great experience at De Munut: Balinese-style property is pretty, has two pools, clean, in a great location near the Campuhan Ridge Trail--far enough away from congested central Ubud that it's quiet, but close enough to be an easy walk. Staff were helpful, friendly and many called our son by his name. Made-to-order breakfast was delicious and included in the hotel's very reasonable rates. Spa on property offers good Balinese massage and pedicures. Staff organized a wonderful babysitter for 60k IDR/hour. Overall, a great place to stay.

Nature oriented Hotel
Nice for those in touch with the elements. Outdoor bathroom, simple bed, small tv. Facility was very zen and natural, so make sure you are ok with that before booking. They charge for everything.

A little slice of Paradise in Ubud - Very quiet, two lovely pools and a short walk to town centre. A great place for a relaxing 3-4 nights.

OK place for a night.
Location is good. Walkable to Ubud centre and safe. Mosquitos at night in balcony. Room has very strong woody smell coming from the air con which causes my sensitive nose to have sinus. Spider web in the open air shower with many small flying insects and gecko. Towel wasn't prepared in room and I have to go to reception to request for towels since the room phone isn't working at all. Wifi is good. Bed not so comfy. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Spa massage is not too bad. Overall wasn't really a resort and spa standard and quite an old place.

Very enjoyable first visit
Very enjoyable first visit to Bali. Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Great staff and service, handy location. Hotel is not top of the range but for the price I would recommend it as good value for money

Comfortable accommodation away from the crowds
The hotel was away from the main road in Ubud which is extremely busy and was its placement was close to nice restaurants. Our room was basic, breakfast was good.

Peaceful retreat
Although this resort is in a bustling area, once inside the gates it is quiet and restful. My room was perfect for a solo traveler; the layout provides great privacy without feeling isolated, and the 24 hour reception is only ever a phone call away. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels and bottled water provided. Breakfast was included but due to a lack of vegan options, I ended up skipping this. But who can really complain when the Bintang supermarket nearby has good granola and non-dairy milks, and the excellent Alchemy raw food cafe is a short walk away? The indoor-outdoor bathroom was very clean and pleasant to use, and the big bathtub was a delight.

Nice setting and pleasant staff
The hotel was in a very nice setting with a nice pool. You could walk into Ubud within 15 minutes. It was nice to be away from the town but still within fairly close proximity. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Very beautiful place. Perfect surroundings.
I loved the area. it was perfect place. Nice friendly staff. Location was good. Room stay could have been a little better if the hot water was working. Everything else was nice. I would stay again.

Highly recommended!
I loved this hotel. Hotel staffs are very friendly, and are willing to help you in every way possible. Its not located in the middle of Ubud's craziness, yet is close enough to walk or bike. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Bali!

Fantastic hotel
We have stayed 3 other hotels for this 2 weeks trip in Bali. De munut wasn't the most expensive one but definitely the best one. We really liked the room, the staff and the service. We will come back to it for sure in the future.

Lovely start to a holiday.
Great place to start, away from craziness of Ubud but near enough to walk. Pool was lovely and often ours alone. Room was great with two balconies and comfy bed. Loved this place.

Nice ambience but too steep a hill
It's about a 15 min walk to the central Ubud (Ubud Palace) and there's a steep hill to overcome (approx 30% gradient). Not recommended for elderly and actually unwise to walk on as there are many cars in the narrow roads. Calling a 'taxi' from hotel will cost Rupiah 30,000 per car. Other than that, hotel and staff very pleasant but daily towels given were dirty (stained) and had holes,

Nice pools
The pools were nice and refreshing. The room needed some maintenance but the price was right. Breakfast was a choice of American, continental or Balinese. Night time was a little noisy with the abundant wildlife and, in the early morning, with the dogs, roosters etc. Unfortunately the pavements both sides of the road to Ubud were under maintenance so we couldn't walk into town but taxis were readily available.

Quiet and convenient location
Very nice location and surrounds with rice paddies out back. Staff great, breakfast OK. No other meals on site but cafés at the door. Pool great. Rooms very comfortable especially deluxe where we stayed. Spa services on site.

Best hotel I stayed in. Wanted to stay longer than my reservation but they were booked! Had I known this was such an outstanding hotel, I would have booked for 5 nights instead of 2. HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a little bit hard to find, to say the least. It is also quite far from everything. But the rooms (at least deluxe) are nice and spacious. There are 2 pools, very pleasant and overall the hotel is very quiet so great place to rest and relax. However, huge disapointment in term of the service, it looks like guest are annoynace to the front desk staff.

Good for the price
Our room was big and clean, with the usual outdoor bathroom setup. I'm guessing its fairly new so it's still in good condition. If you're not fussy about service and don't plan to hang out in the hotel very much, go for it (provided you don't pay more than £50 for it! We paid for £37/night and can't complain with that price). Pool is good but it has funny taste. There's kettle but no tea/coffee/sugar/spoon (I'm guessing it's for pot noodle he he), no room service either. Breakfast is very limited (order from a choice of pancake, fried rice or chicken congee), but doesn't taste bad. Location is ok (near Bridges restaurant) and not on busy road, but not in central ubud.

Great place, can't go wrong for the price
De Munut is in a great location off the main road. I see people have mentioned the "big steep hill" but seriously, its about 50mtrs long, hardly a trial to get up it!! And at night its lit up and perfectly safe to walk up, I was on my own and felt very safe, drivers in Bali are very aware of pedestrians (contrary to popular belief!). The property is very Balinese style, old colonial, and its great to get off the main road away from the noise. The rooms are large and clean, the bathroom has a massive bath and a lovely partly outdoor shower with cobblestones, really pretty. The staff are smiley and helpful and it has an inhouse beauty spa which I put to good use! The pool area is a little 'tired' but honestly, this is a fantastic place for the price, very cheap I thought! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, there's not much I could fault. Its close enough to walk into main area for food and shops but far enough away to be away from it all. There are also little warungs around the corner, really cheap (my dinner was $3 and yummy) but for that price, its quite basic but good food. Really close to Bridges Restaurant which is fantastic, beautiful food and wonderful service. Also do the Bali Eco Cycling tour, its very worth it.

Great location, close to city centre and surrounded by plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Hired a scooter just around the corner for cheaper than the hotel. It was great to get around and was also close to UBUD FITNESS CENTRE gym which was wonderful for exercise. Staff were pleasant. Wi-Fi crashed a couple of times but not uncommon in Bali. Laundry service was done within a day and very nice. Massages were good but would recommend going to EVE massage parlour around the corner down the street (Google map the location). Wonderful stay for 2 1/2 weeks.
