We stayed here on our last night of trip. We had the private pool villa and the house was huge. We were welcomed with friendly staff. We ate breakfast and dinner here and both options were tasty for two picky American eaters. We used the shuttle to get to downtown Sanur since it is about a 5 minute drive away. We really enjoyed our stay here and the property is beautiful

We only stayed one night at Visakha Sanur, but the Villa was perfect. The staff were super friendly and helpful, we would’ve loved to have stayed longer.

The staff were exceptional! The villas were stunning with private pool. We had a family suite with 2 separate bedrooms that was updated and very spacious. Only a few minute taxi ride to restaurants. They also have a shuttle service to Ubud during the day. Very pleased with the immaculate grounds, central pool besides the private pool and their restaurant was very good.

A useful guide if you are thinking of staying here
I found this Hotel on this site and we arrived late ona flight from London - it is at the end of a dingy badly lit street whose neighborhood is best described as a slum. On arrival I went albeit reluctantly into the front courtyard and was simultaneously shocked and appalled by the basic nature of the Hotel - dirty concrete slab as reception - badly lit and frankly terrifying - the only redeeming feature of my visit to the Hotel was the kindness of the taxi driver in ensuring the speediest of exits to find a real hotel for us.

Perfect family retreat.
The wonderful staff made our stay excellent. It’s a small and very quiet little retreat, it was just perfect for our little family. it is true it’s a bit of a distance to the center of Sanur; but, the free shuttle makes up for it

The space was super tranquil and verdant, the free breakfast was delicious, and they had a shuttle that made it easy to get to the main part of Sanur. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and they actually upgraded my room to a private villa with my own pool that was perfect for a relaxing getaway!

Great get away from the busy world and just escape to peace and quite. Great location and the staff is amazing and the food is great too. You must try the Balinese breakfast. It’s amazing. On the cautionary side ...the water pressure for the sink and shower are a bit low but manageable and it’s sort of located off the beaten path.... but I would recommend this place.

My husband and myself stayed here for four nights as the start to our 10th anniversary celebration,but it wasn't a good experience. We had booked a two bedroom villa on Expedia with private pool . From the time we arrived we were appalled by the state of the approach and entrance to the hotel .The entire resort lacks upkeep and maintenance.Stained garden umbrellas,dirty torn tray cloth on which our welcome drink was served,Airconditioning which didnt work well at night,bath tubs which we couldn't use as the plumbing hadn't been checked ,dirty pools in the common area and our private one, and foul smelling water when using the shower for bathing.The traditional Balinese style room was beautiful but the photographs on the net do not accurately depict the rundown state of the resort. We wanted to check out after the first night and Kadek the manager helped us to search for alternate accommodation, but being peak season in Sanur we were unable to get anything suitable.So we ended up staying here all the nights.Kadek was very helpful but our stay here was a big disappointment.

The villa's environment is nice and quite. The choices of breakfast include American, Continental, local, etc. The staff's service is very good. they are very friendly. I would like to stay in this villa again.

The room looked run-down and was too far from the main parts of Sanur. The restaurant and breakfast was nice. It was lovely that guests said hello to each other when they saw each other.

This hotel is badly overpriced for what it is able to provide. A real scam. The buildings and grounds have been badly let go. The gardens are not cared for. The swimming pool isn't very clean. The photographs online are not recent. The location is very isolated and 'luxury spa' is not an accurate description. Do not believe the great price reductions online. Some of the employees try to help but some of the employees were very rude. With all the guests miserable and trapped it can't be a fun place to work - but the website advertisement and room costs are outrageous for what they are able to offer. On some nights you will have planes that sound as though they are landing on your head the entire night - and the airport does not have a cut off time for incoming or outgoing flights so the noise does not stop.

The best stay!
This was my third time to Bali but my partner's first. We chose Sanur because it suited our lifestyle and chose the KaMaya as it looked beautiful, which it really was. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was a problem. We had the best time and can't wait to go back.

Nice relaxing hotel. Great for couples. Well presented rooms, nice pool. Breakfast was very nice. Next to mosquito swamp. Large gaps in walls and doors which let them in. Bring pegs to close up the holes in the sheets draped over the 4 poster bed. 20-25 minute walk to town or taxi it. Low water pressure, 5mins for hot water.

Very nice, quiet and comfortable.
We enjoyed our Lanai room with plunge pool. Very refreshing. Also the main pool and setting. We had a couple of trips in to Sanur, where there are smart shops, also a great, little shopping center. The hotel shuttle drop you in town and you take a taxi back for $3.00. We went to the beach one day, and have to say we did not like it one bit! We much rather stay at the hotel. I had a very nice, relaxing massage at the hotel spa. We found the prices on everything very reasonable. At least one person at the hotel spoke very good English, and all the staff were very friendly and smiley.

The Best Hotel Experience Ever
We recently stayed at kaMAYA for 8 days and it was absolutely the Best Hotel Experience. We were originally booked into a Villa with private pool which was beautiful. The following day, they upgraded us to another Villa (The Kesara) and that was absolutely amazing. You can view the photos of this room in the Gallery on their website. The staff were so helpful with anything you required. The breakfast each morning was perfect. We only had dinner twice there but it was delicious every time. We had massages everyday at the resort and it was an hour of bliss every time. The resort is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for the ultimate relaxed atmosphere, totally private and true Balinese style with attention to detail and outstanding service. It is a little hidden and a half hour walk into the centre of Sanur but the resort has it's own Driver that will drop you into Sanur anytime you like and complimentary. A taxi back to the resort is only $3. Eka is the main lady at Reception and she was fantastic and made our stay so wonderful. If you are after the PERFECT getaway.... This is it.

Nice traditional Balinese style hotel
We stayed for 8 nights in a Lanai with pool. The room was decorated in Balinese style and was very comfortable. It had a king-sized bed and very elegant cotton drapings. The bathroom was well appointed, and an outdoor style, which was a great novelty but did allow lots of mosquitos to enter the bedroom if the door was left ajar. The airconditioning was excellent. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, but the mattress was firm, yet comfortable. There was no TV, which was nice, but wouldn't have detracted from the room had there been one. Given the distance from Sanur, we were anticipating very tranquil, quiet surrounds. This was not the case- almost every day there was a man on a PA system, we think organising a local festival, and a concert on our last night that went until midnight. The days there wasn't the man bellowing instructions in Indonesian, there was loud construction from a nearby villa. We were also told that we weren't entitled to breakfast as we had booked a cheaper room rate with Expedia. I thought we were, but left it at that. Found out on our return that we were entitled to breakfast. Not impressed at this as they insisted we pay US$15 for breakfast, which we declined and bought from local supermarkets instead. Access to WIFI would have solved this as I could have retrieved my booking to show them. All in all, it was a lovely stay, but given the distance to everything, we would probably not return.

Very private Resort. You feel like in a new world.
We're a family of five and stayed 2 weeks in the Villa Maya. Our time there was great and also the ktichen is excellent. The staff takes care of all your needs and we really enjoyed the cooking class and all the great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Peaceful retreat
Absolutely loved our stay at KaMaya. Could not recommend this resort enough. It is a very peaceful place to relax and unwind. Our Villa with a pool was amazing. Lovely gardens, large comfortable rooms and no TV. Was nice to feel cut off from the outside world (there was excellent wifi though). All the staff were very friendly and were always willing to help with any queries. Can highly recommend the spa treatments as well. More expensive than those available elsewhere in the tourist areas but far superior.

A hidden gem!
Loved every minute of the stay at kaMAYA. The originally booked garden villa was upgraded to a villa with a pool, and what a difference that made! The room was comfortable, beautiful and even luxurious. The bathroom is outstanding, even though is somewhat exposed to the elements, so dragonflies, mosquitoes and other moths constantly buzz around. After all that, taking a bath was the most relaxing and enjoyable (and romantic) time! Also, loved spending time in the pool! The hotel is within walking distance to the beach, but it's not evident from the start. The hotel car took us to the beach club, and that place was very simple and rustic but great for those who are looking for a bit of peace and quiet (away from the popular Kuta and Seminyak locations). The hotel food is superb. Took a cooking class and sincerely enjoyed the afternoon being silly in the kitchen with the head chef!

Perfect place for us to stay for 14 days. Quiet, peaceful, clean, excellent staff service in a more rustic style of environment. We loved it. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us.

A must read before booking
A get away from everything, not close to anything but they will drive you to shops and you take a taxi back ($2.50 cad). We had our own pool which was filthy but they added some chemicals and by the 3 rd day it was not to bad. Do not order the food!!!! Our first meal consisted of raw ( cold and red on the inside) satays and unfortunately we ate 3/4's of our burgers before noticing the black mold on the bottom buns. So that was our first meal the second one was not much better we got raw bacon and our butter had a squished cricket on it. The place was quiet as there was only one other family there but my biggest problem with this resort was the lack of water pressure, there was not enough to take a shower so we decided to run a bath but after 25 minutes of sitting watching it fill ( cant leave as lots of frogs so you gotta make sure they do not jump in) it had only filled up one inch. If you are planning to stay here I would strongly reconsider.

Peaceful hotel with helpful staff
The hotel is very cozy and beautiful.The services were wonderful and the staff helped us with all our enquiries. We had a private pool and we barely met any other guests. It felt very secluded and real. We feel like we had the real 'balinese' experience. The hotel has a lot of nature, perfect place to disconnect from your crazy daily life and reconnect with yourself. A perfect place to rest.
