Quiet hotel set in beautiful country surroundings. Close to town. A short walk outside the hotel took us into unspoilt countryside and rice fields where we watched the locals at work.

"Nice traditional Balinese style hotel"
We stayed for 8 nights in a Lanai with pool. The room was decorated in Balinese style and was very comfortable. It had a king-sized bed and very elegant cotton drapings. The bathroom was well appointed, and an outdoor style, which was a great novelty but did allow lots of mosquitos to enter the bedroom if the door was left ajar. The airconditioning was excellent. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, but the mattress was firm, yet comfortable. There was no TV, which was nice, but wouldn't have detracted from the room had there been one. Given the distance from Sanur, we were anticipating very tranquil, quiet surrounds. This was not the case- almost every day there was a man on a PA system, we think organising a local festival, and a concert on our last night that went until midnight. The days there wasn't the man bellowing instructions in Indonesian, there was loud construction from a nearby villa. We were also told that we weren't entitled to breakfast as we had booked a cheaper room rate with Expedia. I thought we were, but left it at that. Found out on our return that we were entitled to breakfast. Not impressed at this as they insisted we pay US$15 for breakfast, which we declined and bought from local supermarkets instead. Access to WIFI would have solved this as I could have retrieved my booking to show them. All in all, it was a lovely stay, but given the distance to everything, we would probably not return.

"NIce hotel for families"
We spend a long weekend in this hotel, our first visit to Bali, and it was great. The price is a little high, but we do not regret. Great facilities, huge place, very nice and comfortable rooms, and we got a beach view room that was amazing. The breakfast was included and it was very good, so many options for both adults and kids. The kids loved the water slide in the pool, it was a lot of fun, and the beach is wide and very clean.

"Fantastic hotel outside Ubud"
We stayed at Furama for 3 nights. I contacted the hotel before our visit to find out more about the activities they offered. I received a prompt reply with so much helpful information about their cycling, trekking, cooking classes, spa and tours. We decided to book a cooking class before we arrived to ensure a place. We arrived at the hotel before check in, but the hotel provided us with drinks and a place to rest while we waited. We were upgraded to a Duluxe spa villa which was lovely. The villa has its own pool, whirlpool bath (which we didn't use), huge bathroom, comfy sitting room and high ceilinged bedroom. The Furama villas sit on a large plot with a padi field in the middle. This gives the whole place a calm and spacious feeling. In the morning you can hear the birds and at dusk the bats and crickets are in full song. The restaurant was great and the Buffett breakfast catered for all diets. The staff were friendly and well trained. The spa was fantastic and we received a free 15min massage and 40% off the bill which made it even better. The cooking course was worth the early start to visit the market and learn about where the food comes from. There are shuttles to Ubud but we didn't use them. We were able to book a Furama car to take us to the airport which cost 350,000 idr. I would recommend this hotel to those that like the quiet and finer things in life!

"Excellent honeymoon getaway!"
Me and my wife went to Bali Indonesia for our honeymoon. It was our first time in Indonesia and we definitely were looking for a resort that has the comfort of home but also brings us a fantasy of living on our little island. The Bulgari resort provided both those desires in its entirety! Our premier ocean villa was breathtaking, and it was one of the largest resort rooms we stayed in for a couple size. The resort itself has all of the amenities you could think of for a 5 star hotel... Infinity pools right in front of the Indian ocean, luxury spas, and fantastic restaurants. But the villa itself was so beautiful that we seldom wanted to leave it! Our own in villa infinity pool and in villa dining was definitely top notch. The breakfast included package where you could go to the buffet or in villa dining will leave you full for dinner! They also provided tours all around Bali which we thought was more than adequate for our honeymoon trip. Lastly, the service is on another level. I'll say this, I have never been pampered, looked after, serviced as well as I did on Bulgari resort than any other trip I ever had! You really can't go wrong with this resort. Just go and they'll take care of the rest.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Grand Nikko. The rooms were excellent and had great views. The food was great and every night there was a special food activity with entertainment which was great. The days were filled with lots of swimming in the pools, at the beach or soaking in the hot tub. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Bali Resort & Spa Travel Guide

Bali, Indonesia, is considered one of the top vacation destinations in the world for good reason. Like a glimmering jewel, it has many facets that create one extraordinary whole. Boasting friendly, welcoming locals, amazing archaeological sites, unparalleled natural beauty, and, of course, the definitive white-sand beaches, it’s no wonder Bali constantly wins travel awards.

Since people visit from all over the world, Bali resorts are available in all styles and sizes. The rich and famous as well as student backpackers can find a resort in Bali to suit their budget. The best resorts in Bali, Indonesia, are either located in the quiet river valleys that provide everything you need for relaxing or right on the most popular beaches where the parties and nightclubs rock well into the night. There are also Bali resorts on the less crowded, more secluded beaches, and no matter what your ideal digs may be, can find the right resort for you.

    When to Visit Bali

The right time to visit Bali depends on your aim. If you're looking for the best surf, you should travel between April and October to surf on the west coast. For surfing the east coast, November to March has the superior waves.

If you would like to participate in cultural celebrations, you’re in luck. There are festivals throughout the year that include dancing, music, fireworks, fantastic food, and much more. One of the most popular is the Negara Bull Races between July and October. The high season, when the hotels, restaurants, and taxis typically have higher rates, is between April and October as well as the Christmas and New Year’s season. You can contact for cheap deals at time of year.

    What Bali Has to Offer

In addition to surfing, diving is one of the top activities in Bali. There are several excellent dive spots, including Padang Bai, Tulamben, Menjangan, and Nusa Penida, where you can safely view wrecks and the wondrous local marine life, learn how to catch ornamental fish in a sustainable way, and help rebuild coral reefs.

Bali has a completely different eco-system in its interior with an active volcano, jewel-like rice terraces, and a monkey forest in Ubud. Mount Batur in the central mountain area offers wide vistas of the volcano’s caldera and the sparkling lake that fills part of it. There are thriving villages in this area as well as ancient villages that you can visit.

Bali houses some of the most incredible Hindu temples outside of India. Tanah Lot is the most famous. Perched on a giant rock, the waves crash all around it. There are resorts, restaurants, and shops nearby as well as a cultural center where regular dance performances are offered. Other temples that offer unique experiences are Uluwatu, perched on an outcrop overlooking the sea, and Besakih Temple, the largest temple on Bali, located on the slopes of Mount Agung. It is a fascinating complex of 86 individual temples.

Visitors can also take tours of the jungle on the back of an elephant and visit the Safari and Marine Park where there are more than 60 species of freely roaming animals including tigers.

    Resort Amenities

A Bali luxury resort gives you everything you need and more. You can expect infinity pools overlooking the ocean, free Internet connections or Wi-Fi, full-service spas and hair salons, restaurants, game rooms, childcare services for a fee, and health clubs on-site. In-room amenities often include bathrobes, DVD players, coffee makers, refrigerators, and balconies where you can enjoy the sunset in the evenings.

Budget hotels in Bali don’t skimp on the amenities either. They may offer free Wi-Fi as well as breakfast and feature outdoor pools and laundry facilities in addition to TVs with premium cable channels. Whether you are looking for all-inclusive resorts in Bali or resorts with specific accessibility needs, can get you a great deal.

What to Do and Where to Do It

Lovina and Singaraja are the places to visit in North Bali if you are looking for quiet beaches, and adventurous visitors can head to the archaeological sites nearby. Central Bali, including Ubud, Tabanan, and Bedugul, are in the central mountains and offer whitewater rafting and great natural beauty. South Bali is where all the party action is as well as the most popular beaches including Kuta Beach and the chic Seminyak Beach.

It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to visit Bali; check out today to find good deals for flights to Bali, car rentals, and resort accommodations so that you too can experience this Indonesian jewel.
