Decent but a bit inconvenient
Posted Oct 10, 2016
If you do not rent a car, there is nothing within walking distance so you have to take a hotel shuttle if you want any decent food or drink and if you are there on business, taking the time for a shuttle is not convenient if you just need a quick bite or drink.
The bar was the saddest bar I have ever seen. The bartenders were anywhere from "ok" to "great", but they had to work with embarrassing well quality alcohol featured on the shelves (Canadian Mist anyone?), and almost no staples. It became a nightly joke similar to the Monty Python "cheese shop" skit, watching people try to order. No Jack Daniels, no Makers Mark, no Patron, no Stella, no Heineken (well..Heineken light lol), and on and on. I actually felt bad for the bartenders. Whoever stocks that bar should be fired...or perhaps they were and it hasn't been re-stocked since that fateful day 3 years ago.
The food was bad, even for bar food. Hamburgers and "chicken" sandwiches clearly came from those frozen stacks of puck sized things in frozen foods aisles. Ditto for french fries, clearly dumped from some bag and more or less heated.
My room had two wooden "features" on the left and right under the windows that were supposed to be desks I suppose, one had a chair to hint at this, but the "desk" was so high that at the highest the chair could go, you could not possible type comfortably. Yet it was too short to stand at either.
Beds were okay, but no blankets to speak of, so be prepared to crank up the heat.
