Great findPosted Oct 12, 2015
Pros: Architecture, staff, room, proximity to train station.
Cons: Amenities in the bathroom. There was no soap until requested, and the lotion used one day was not replaced the next.
Location: Near colleges, train station and short walk to shopping and parks.
Lovely redone hotel with history. The staff is so helpful.

Quiet hotel in Mt. Vernon historic districtPosted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: It is clean and quiet, and a historical building.
Location: It was very easy to get downtown by the light rail or free circulator bus. We also enjoyed the museum, park, and restaurants in Mt. Vernon.
We got a great deal on this lovely hotel and found it perfect for our Baltimore vacation.

Nice hotel in Mount Vernon area of BaltimorePosted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant small courtyard with tables and chairs, friendly staff, appearance.
Location: Mount Vernon area has many historic buildings and sights. There is a free bus route to take you to most of Baltimore. Fort McHenry a must!
My wife and I had a pleasant midweek stay for two nights to see various historic sites in Baltimore. The Mount Vernon area is friendly with a mixture of grand buildings and charming row homes. The hotel is situated near Charles Street which has a number of good restaurants. The hotel itself is cozy and warm on the inside and an impressive brick edifice on the outside. The people behind the desk were friendly and helpful and our room was in good order. Because the hotel is a refurbished older building, the rooms each have a distinct layout and character and the elevator is smallish - thus I mostly used the circular staircase. Some people might be put off by this, but I found it to my liking.

easy access to much of downtownPosted Jul 1, 2015
nice stay, but room had few amenities and needs face lift. Breakfast minimal. Overall the hotel is plain wrap, but fairly clean and needs more upgrading. Parking is sparse with only a few spaces in front of hotel and no parking in rest of neighborhood. We were able to walk and take public transportation to various museums and we were even able to walk to the art college.

A Great Hotel. A Gem in Charm City.Posted Jun 26, 2015 on Hotels
This was the BEST stay at a hotel I never stayed at before that I have had in about 20 years! Just up from the Mount Vernon part of Baltimore in a lovely neighborhood with good restaurants and fun down the block on Charles Street. The hotel was renovated and remodeled in 2010 and the job is SUPERB. The room was immaculate, large, and comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful. My one regret was that I could only stay for one night. It made me want to come back to the hotel and Baltimore as soon as possible.

Beautiful Hotel & Delightful Overnight StayPosted Jun 11, 2015 on Hotels
Very comfortable and pleasant overnight stay! The hotel has done a beautiful job so far on the restorations as it is my understanding that this used to be an abandoned building. There is no parking garage but there are 6 free spaces available in front of the hotel (first come, first serve). There are also numerous pay-to-park spaces around the hotel and in the neighborhood, which I think become free after 6:00 p.m. The hotel is not within walking distance of the inner harbor but it's just a short taxi/Uber ride away.
