This library had been on my bucket list for years! Unfortunately you cannot ascend any of the stairs so you'll only get the view from the ground. The famous reading room itself is smaller than it sometimes looks in photos, but is so worth a quick stop if you're in Baltimore. Before you plan to see it though, check the opening hours online. I believe it is not open for the public on weekends and on Mondays! Dragon paddle boats are always an Inner Harbor classic. This beautiful Baltimore sunset is peeking out through a gap in the fence at Druid Hill Park. The reflection on the lake is mesmerizing--but don't stay too long past dusk, because it's not the safest area. NOTE: this is a completely unaltered iPhone photo Another great find in a Baltimore shop window! What a wonderful idea! Not only is the Baltimore Farmer's Market amazing, but with Go Go's Retread Threads, it is even more amazing and unique. This bus has all kinds of vintage clothes and accessories. It even has a fitting room so you can see just how fabulous you look in that silk screened dress. FEED ME. This Little Shop of Horrors creature can be found in an alley on the stretch of W Preston St between Maryland Ave and N Charles St. Just be sure to come prepared with a few live sacrifices. Gothic Church Giant Flamingo at Cafe Hon The free Mount Washington Arboretum has live honeybees out in the open, which you can walk right up to--if you're daring enough. Baltimore's Belvedere Square Market is a perfect mix of the pork store in Valley Stream and Copenhagen's Glass Market. All three of my Homes merge here. The giant flamingo of Cafe Hon Take a walk back in history. Plans are in the works for a renovation, but the library, situated in downtown Baltimore, is absolutely stunning right now! The Children's department has a koi pond (and a story teller!) and there's a night room, with a ceiling of stars and comfy pillows to sit on. The YA section has gorgeous manga inspired murals, and the humanities department has a massive graphic novel selection!!
Visit. You won't be disappointed! This is one of the many pavement squares featured in front of the historic Senator Theatre. The Senator has been around since 1939, and has featured many movie premiers, mainly those of John Waters' and Barry Levinson's. Many of their movies also have squares in front of the theatre. Several celebrities, including Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, and John Travolta, have come to screenings and events over the years. Holy Frijoles is the place to be--all the time Deff worth checking out for some cool photos. And if your interested in partying there you can find discounted tickets on Groupon twice a month. Austin and Portland may keep things weird but the capital of East Coast quirk is Baltimore. The center of Baltimore’s eclectic charms is Hampden where you'll find The Charmery, a funky neighborhood ice cream parlor dishing out some of the most unique scoops in the city. Locals and visitors line up for only-in-Baltimore flavors like Berger's cookies and cream and Old Bay Salted Caramel.https://casualtravelist.com/blog/discovering-baltimore-maryland/ #sweetspot Great place to go on a date because if he/she bores you, all of the tchotchkes on the wall won't! A super-plus: the food is magnificent It's difficult not to stand and stare in awe inside the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. I captured this image of a friend lost in the intricate art of hundreds of stained glass windows lining the cathedral walls. Fresh crab pizza with mozzarella cheese, garlic cream sauce and fresh herbs
#baltimore #joesquared Taking crepes to another level. Healthy choices too. Cafe Hon was featured on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and got completely remodeled. Definitely an improvement! The First Presbyterian Church's cornerstone was laid in 1761. This beautiful church is found near the Mount Vernon historic district of Baltimore. Taken in December 2017 Flamingoes and forsythia above the entrance to a shop. Classic Baltimore architecture and kitschy charm. A Mother's Day tea and cake Slide the city , Baltimore , MD Fried Ravioli and fresh Marinara Sauce. Excellent! Atwater's makes the best Cafe Mochas I've ever had! #FoodieFinds This is what Baltimore needed. A truly diversified place with nearly a dozen vendors serving dishes with food locally grown. Elvis pancakes at Golden West. Two plate sized cakes with bacon, peanutbutter-butter, and fried bananas. Top with real maple syrup. I was not able to finish this one. So pretty! Beautiful stained glass windows inside the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. My favorite area of Baltimore. Feels like you are in a square somewhere in Europe. Can't remember the name of the store. Sadly, it was closed or this shirt would be mine. Baltimore's first and only Turkish restaurant. This is Efes which is Turkish beer, awesome tasting and light. Amazing food as well! Billie Holiday, Sandtowne neighborhood, Baltimore MD
They say all great music comes from pain. Well Billie's certainly did. A trajic childhood led to perhaps the greatest jazz vocalist the world has ever known. Baltimore, MD - Bolton Hill – Artscape

Known as “Charm City”, Baltimore is a patchwork of neighborhoods, like Bolton Hill, and is fast becoming known for its culinary treasures, whether old established crab houses or the new and trendy options of Canton and Fells Point.
