terrible hotel at Columbia MDPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: Nothing, the beds were they only thing that was good......
Cons: Read my experience fix hotel
Location: The location was great close shopping and food.
The fire detector was hanging off the wall , the toilet paper holder fell off the wall, the towel holder fell off the wall. The wall paper was hanging and pellling off the wall. the wire going to the light in the bath room the black wire witch is the hot wire was showing so we left the bathroom door open so the steam would not bother it. We have stayed at a lot of Sheratons but we will never stay at this one again. The whole place just looked run down.

It has a bed...Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: Lobby felt nice
Cons: Large capital improvements need to be made.
Location: Columbia, MD is great if you are doing business in the area or want to be in the crowded suburbs.
Lobby looks nice, the rest of the hotel is dated and in need of some capital improvements. The hotel just has a run down, trying to milk it until the building falls apart feel to it. i get its an old converted space but it also feels like an old converted space and not in the way a Historic Loft is. The bed was meh, but I slept. The shower was a bit small and a little dingy. Time for a renovation.

Good location, terrible bed!Posted Oct 1, 2015
Cons: Beds, bedding and full bathroom renos
Location: Near Whole Foods and the Mall, and on a picturesque lake with a jogging/walking trail.
This hotel is in a good location on a pretty lake, next to Whole Foods and the Columbia Mall. I would recommend it for these reasons. However the beds are old and there are plastic-bottomed mattress pads(!) that made me feel like I was sleeping in a hospital bed. Additionally the bedding was dated (white but dated). At over $160 a night I expect a great bed and a plush duvet. This hotel really needs to upgrade their beds and bedding.

Michael, at the front desk was excellent!Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: all was good. Michael at front desk was a gifted ambassador.
Cons: nothing. perfect stay. Exceeded expectations.
Location: Sushi King is a local sushi fav. Has private dining areas for special occasions with rice paper walls.
Michael, made sure I had all conveniences for a special return visit to this hotel. Year before my wife and I had dinner here. We returned since the kids are older now and the whole night was magical. Michael even send a bottle of champagne to the room. 1st Class.

Close to the lakePosted Sep 27, 2015
I'm not happy with my stay. The room has no fridge and microwave. Bed is okay. Bathroom is so small and no exhaust. You can hear people talking from the next room.

September 2015 visitPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Close to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: Housekeeping. No scanning capabilities in club business center.
Location: Columbia shopping center is a short drive away and several restaurants are within walking distance.
Spent two nights at this Sheraton and noticed the following issues: This hotel is built around an open lobby, therefore noise from the lobby area will carry several floors up. My room was on the 8th floor and I was awakened at 2am to the sounds of what was probably a wedding party laughing and talking loudly in the lobby area. Housekeeping was also lax. A call to the front desk had to be made to request housekeeping when they failed to show up by 4:30pm despite my being out of the room all day. The front desk was efficient and quickly dispatched a housekeeper, however having to prompt for routine services didn't meet my expectations. Front desk staff were friendly and attentive and location near restaurants and shopping is convenient. That said, I will probably consider another hotel next time.

Unfortunate experiencePosted Sep 13, 2015
The hotel was beautiful, clean and in a fantastic location. We chose that hotel because we were in town for a half marathon. However, we had the unfortunate luck to be on the same floor as the groom and ushers in a wedding party. They were loud, abrasive and rude (to be polite). We had to call the front desk 4 times and finally request to call the police before they went silent. I was disappointed with the hotel staff's inclination and ability to handle the situation in a quick and efficient manner. We only managed to get 4.5 hours of sleep that night. To credit Expedia and the hotel, they gave me a full refund and an apology. While that was wonderful, it didn't make up for the missed sleep before a physically taxing event.
