hotel is a bit sad and dated and not up to scratchPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: location was near the Walters museum where we attended a wedding and Mount Vernon is an interesting throwback to turn-of-19-20 century lifestyle
Cons: supplies, service, facilities, carpet, tiles, window
Location: we only were there for one night for the wedding. should try harder
room was mostly clean but 1) no tissues in the box in the bathroom; 2) carpet was loose in the corridor between the bed and the bathroom; 3) one bathroom floor tile was in jagged pieces right by the tub where you get out; 4) part of one of the window seal was dangling and hit the window every time the wind blew; 5) there was a coffee maker but only one paper cup in a room for two. we had breakfast in the hotel Sunday morning. There were many guests and two servers. even getting in our order took nearly a half hour. then we waited and waited to be served our breakfast only after 10 am. the only thing that went fast was presentation of the bill

I like old hotels.Posted Sep 26, 2015
When I arrived hotel staff was not at the counter. She was washing her hands. Usually I am always greeted enthusiastically. Not so much this time. Perhaps they can work on customer service

Level of service is below that of a motelPosted Sep 23, 2015
Upon checking in I found trash from the prior occupant still in the room inside the closet on the shelf. Sleeping in the bed I got covered with long blonde hairs. Being a middle eastern man with short hair I'm positive they weren't mine. The hot water takes over 13 minutes to start in the shower. The wifi would randomly stop working and you'd have to wait a few minutes each time to try again. On my last day, they put up a notice about wifi repairs happening in coming days. On my last night I called the front desk for towels. I tried 4 calls because the phone rang forever. After an hour of trying, someone finally answered. I waits an additional hour for the towels. Don't eat at the restaurant, George's, the food was horrible staff dressed sloppily and they just microwave old coffee for you. For the money, there are plenty of other places to eat nearby with better quality.

Nice classy hotel, nice cultural neighborhoodPosted Sep 18, 2015
This hotel has an old charming feel to it. The staff were all great! It's within range of a great museum,a great library, and a good range of eateries -oh and the mt Vernon park(with the Washington monument in it's center). Anyway a great find. I would defiantly stay here again! :-)

Horrible hotel with very unfriendly front deskPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Nothing! Too bad there is not a section to select zero star!
Cons: Parking Staff at front desk
Location: The old architecture in the area was nice. However the area is not in a very good section.
Got in at 2 am to find nowhere to park and a very unfriendly front desk. Informed the only parking available from hotel was Valet at 29.00 + tax = 34.80 per night The cost to park was more than the cost of my rental car. Very noisy and it was 2 am. Facilities/room was OK but outdated. Hotel was already paid for but was hit with a 250+/- bill when i was checking out. In addition to the parking they wanted to change me for ordering room service twice. I never ordered room service so not sure where that originated. Would never stay there again and absolutely would not recommend anyone staying there.

Horrible night shift staffPosted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: clean room and comfy bed
Cons: Better training for the night shift front desk clerk. Giving customers attitude for your mistake is not a good idea.
Location: great location but will not use again and will let my coworkers know too!
Great accommodations, nice bed and clean room. Horrible night shift front desk clerk. I had to leave early in the morning around 5am and both the valet and front desk were sleeping. I tried for 10 minutes from my room to call for my car to be around and no answer. I was told it takes 15 minutes to get my car so that is why I was calling before I had to leave. When I arrived to the front desk no one was there. I yelled three times and no answer. BY the 4th call for some help I heard a noise next to front desk and the front desk clerk pops out all wide eyed and says "how can I help you". Obviously I just woke him up. When I explained to him I needed my car right away because I will be late for work and that I called the valet with no answer he decided to give me attitude. He said "You know it is gonna take 15 minutes" and I responded "I know that so that is why I was calling for the last 10 minutes for my car both the valet and the front desk and no one answered". I would be fine if he didn't give me attitude, he should have apologized. No he just remained silent and called valet which took another 4 minutes for him to answer. Front desk clerk in the morning, and early evening were very nice when I check in. I am sorry but if you can't do night shift then you shouldn't do it. I mean you fell asleep admit you were wrong and don't pick a fight with the customer!

We had a wonderful stay!!!Posted Aug 28, 2015
We had a small issue with items in room supplied by an outside vender (paper cups for coffee/water) and the Wyndham took care of us. They went above and beyond anything we could have asked for.
