    Nearly all good

Room comfortable and very clean. Staff happy to help. Lack of car parking is a problem

Fantastic atmosphere and location. Kind and accommodating when I made a booking error.

Chosen as a birthday treat but was v disappointed. I was expecting a cosy retreat/respite from the Northumberland weather. Had booked a room with a bath (dislike showers) but someone else was in it. Downstairs nowhere comfortable to sit. Over bright lighting. Electric fire. Granite topped tables. I had the mornay and although scallops were good, other fish chewy (frozen not fresh). Everything arranged for ease of management not guests. No atmosphere, no soul, and perhaps most tellingly, no local customers.

The room was large and the views were lovely. Breakfast was good, a great selection. We ate once in the evening, terrible selection, we were only given a small selection, no specials & only one vegetarian option. If we weren’t so exhausted from the days walking we’d have definitely gone elsewhere

Too many Indians and no Chief !

Weekend away towards the end of October. No heating on in the room on arrival or throughout that night until early the following morning. There was a small electrical oil heater provided which we had to leave on all night. Breakfast window very tight...8am-9:30 but with only a few rooms understandable. Most disappointing was having reserved a specific table for dinner on Saturday evening we found that through poor staff communication it had been given to someone else. With no apologies we were expected to accept this and sit outside the restaurant area ! Our opinion is that there are too many Indians with no Chief ?
